Time for the annual town run in Céret, France. I have deferred to my age, size and lack of practice, and just went in for the shortest 5•5 km run.
About 300 runners at this distance, we set out at 9.40 in a quite uncomfortable 24C. My objectives were met: I finished; I wasn’t last; and I beat the mayor. Knackered!!
At the end, I put the above brave face for the onlookers, despite having legs of lead!
Happy runnings all😎

Last year I overtook him at a water stop at 3km when he stopped to shake hands with everyone (that what maires do). Today at the self same spot when he sat down with his team to drink water. After that he ate my shorts 😳
I often think of you running on the other side of the Pyrenees! Well done for keeping it up in this heat, I have changed to cycling until it gets cooler1. Must happen soon.
