Well hi everyone….I hope you are all well and you’ve all had a good summer?

Thank you to Annieapple for her wonderful quest last month….

September is my favourite month for running…well, one of them…I love the other months too, this though, is doing the reverse of what I love about the beginning of Spring…when everything starts to go to sleep…the trees are so beautiful at this time of year & Autumn is my very favourite time of year for being at one with nature…And when it’s this time of year, I am more inclined to stick to my goals…so I am going to kick this quest off and I am starting C25k again, again!! I started again last week but I’ve been so busy and there’s always something going on in the Summer that life just seems to take over….anyway, I have 6 months to get myself back into shape ready for a big family wedding cruise in March so there will be no excuses from me…so, who’s joining me this month?

What is the Quest?

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or a goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during September.

⭐️ Sometimes when we commit to something publicly, it’s the start of an achievement.

You need, please, to be a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest.

The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and we wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:

⭐️ To run three times a week

⭐️ To slowly increase distance

⭐️ To train for a specific race

⭐️To add strength and flex exercises to your weekly routine.

This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you!

You may want to begin by reading the pinned post about Consolidation for some ideas to help you find a goal

If you want to join, all you have to do is comment below with something like:

“I would like to join the quest”, or, “MummyCav count me in! I would like to...”

So please come and join us…it doesn’t matter when in September you come on board just jump in & let’s keep cheering each other on!!

⭐️ The team & I are waiting to welcome YOU….

Morning Mummycav

Thank you for hosting this month and thank you Annieapple for hosting last month.

Wow, a Wedding Cruise. Sounds amazing!

As for me - I try and keep my quests reasonably simple -

- Run twice a week

- Keep up the Strength and Conditioning work most days, including one or two Core days.

- Ensure I stretch, so Yoga most days.

Good luck with your return to C25K - at least you know what to expect and we will be supporting you all the way xx

Simplicity is the best 😉 and sounds very doable…thank you, I’ll keep everyone posted on how it’s going x

Morning Mummycav - thank you for being there with the quest this month.

Now I’ve sort of got going again by running 3 times a week, I’d like to join September Quest to …

- gradually increase distance

- add swimming and weights occasionally

Nothing nearly as exciting as a Wedding Cruise but I‘ve decided I’m embarking on the last academic year before I call time on work. I have a year to get myself retirement ready and this is going to need mental and physical preparation 💪

Where better to start than September Quest and be accountable😉

Fantastic 61Lady …retirement is a big step, I’m not sure I’ll be able to bring myself to do it when I get there!! Swimming, yes..I forgot to add that to my quest…enjoy your last year x

Thanks Mummycav

Having worked full time for 46 years plus, frankly I’m rather scared of retirement. Will I find enough satisfying things to do is my main worry so I want to build fitness and strength to set me up which I’m sure will broaden my horizon and can only be a good thing all round 🤞

Yeyayayayya. Hello!

Questing time and... although I stuck pretty well to last month,.,, I intend being a tad more, attentive this time.

Good to know that you are doing C25K again and we can do that together!!! Yeayayay again. I did Week 1 Run 1 on Monday!

So.

Regular daily exercises routine continues with some rest day extra bits! It has paid dividends in keeping me strong!

Yoga... continue with breathing and relaxation focus.

Walk./Talk session with my counsellor each week or fortnightly if I am in Wales. This involves at least, a 2 mile walk.

To continue with a repeat of C25K... again. Week 1 Run 2 tomorrow. Extra rest days if needed. My usual run days are.. Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. But this is always open to tweaking. No pressure at all.

So... there we go... thanks to Annieapple for last month's Quest which kicked me off to a good strong start after all the issues of the last weeks.

Happy cool questing this week everyone!

🍏 Thank you Mummycav for challenging us to find a new Goal for the Autumn (my favourite season too!) You have a very exciting reward to work towards… a family cruise so we will certainly be cheering you on in your Quest!!

At the moment I am down and out with TGN & the side effects from the medication but my quest is to find a way through and back to running again! (Posted on C25K about this sudden change in my life) healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

🍏First I need to be patient until I have had the MRI.. so hopefully that will get done this week.

🍏Gentle walks with hubby’s assistance to maintain balance and stability

🍏Long Term .. back to my runs 3x week

A wedding cruise! How exciting and what a great motivator to be in shape. Can you jog around a boat? That could be a lovely way to warm up for a wedding!

My quest for the month is all around staying positive, consistent and really enjoying running. I’ve had a small flare of my IT band problem. Just one painful run but enough to show me the half marathon if planned was a bit much of a risk right now. The plan is to keep the running pattern I’ve fallen into and that’s been working well-three runs a week. One long, one chilled about 5k and a speedy one. The long runs I’ll limit to around 10k maximum which I know is comfortable for me, and see how that goes. I’m still focussing on strength and flexibility and I’m going to incorporate a weekly home massage using a spiky ball. I did one the other day which was horrible but I can really feel the benefit in how much less tense my legs feel.

So….

Three consistent, enjoyable runs a week

Two (ideally three) strength and flex sessions

Use the dreaded massage ball!

Have a great week questing everyone and thanks so much for keeping us on track ❤️❤️❤️

MummycavAdministratorGraduate10

aw I’m sorry that your marathon has been out on hold…but that’s exactly it, put on hold…it will be waiting for you next year, better safe than sorry xx

Yes, the cruise…starting in Barbados …it’s a brand new ship, it’s massive and yes, there’s a running track round one of the decks so my running gear will, as ever, be the first thing I pack….

I’m sure you’ll stay on track…we’re all here spurring you on xxx

Hi Mummycav , thank you for hosting this month!

For my quest this month I intend to

1. Carry on with 3 runs per week following the NRC Half-Marathon plan, with each plan week taking me a fortnight.

2. Also taking part in Prostrate Cancer UK 'March the Month' so gunning for 11,000 steps per day, running or otherwise.

3. Do some other exercise two or three times per week. Recently it has been 7 minute workout app.

That will do me for this month! I've been talked into the Cancer UK skipping(!) challenge for next month, skipping rope on its way!

Was intending going out again this morning. However like you I’m going to wait until this hot weather passes. I’m going to try going out Sunday so if I pull that off I will have run twice this week. Yesterday I did Pilates and tomorrow I’m going to do some more. 👍😂😂x
