Furthest North I’ve ever Run

I’m off on my travels at the moment and instead of doing the normal touristy thing, it’s nice to get out and about for a jog. To see a little of the country well an extra 6km that us tourists might not normally see.

So Destination Nanortalik, one of those rare places to visit. Why because it’s there. Lots of Lava rocks and plenty of icebergs that I am told are trapped in the bay and will re freeze when the winter time comes which won’t be far away. Photographs never indicate the size of those things, hence I haven’t included pictures.

It’s rather fun, well I think so, just to throw on the shoes and see where it takes me. Strava was handy giving me routes, but I followed the roads or should I say tracks where it looked interesting.

Only made one mistake what I thought was a road turned out to be a pipeline! Not a disaster, just meant turning around and jogging off in a random direction.

Reason for the shorter run. Didn’t want to go too far out of village they told me I could be eaten by polar bears if I wasn’t carrying a gun.

Won’t be long now before I am back on the more mundane routes back in London where there is little chance of being chased by a bear! Having said that it might prompt a much needed increase of speed which is one of my goals for the moment.

Keep well everyone.

Steve

Farewell!

The day frowns more and more: thou'rt like to have

A lullaby too rough: I never saw

The heavens so dim by day. A savage clamour!

Well may I get aboard! This is the chase:

I am gone for ever. [Exit, pursued by a Bear.]
