🍏👏Well done! It’s difficult to start slowly in a park run as there is that surge of energy that one gets caught up in as they blow the whistle. Great timing! Xx
There are some runners who moan if they don't come first or don't get a sub 20 minutes 5K time at parkrun or marathon runners who don't get a sub 2 - 3/4 hours time, so don't moan. enjoy your runs 🏃 👍
The main thing is that you enjoy your running, I was reading recently that only around 20/25% of the adult population can run for more than 1 mile without stopping, I am not sure if that's true
Well done! It's been crazy windy here all day but humid too.As you all seem to be enjoying parkrun so much I think I might have to give it a go sometime
Super! In my entire experience of ONE park run, it was the chats that meant the most. Well, and the fact that many of those non-sprinters who finished early stood on the corner near the end and applauded and cheered the later finishers. That was quite something.
Much better. Long day working in London yesterday with driving/train/sitting for hours. Very sore indeed by the end of that, but exercise sorted me. A repeat of all that today ...
I had a couple of short runs last week and hope to have three very slightly longer runs (of up to five whole minutes!) this week.
I did a new to me Park Run on Saturday. Like you I started too fast - again!!! I think it was because i was in the middle and it was quite crowded at the start. I got pushed along. This one was all on tarmac path but an out and back so a bit narrow when the fast runners were on their way back. Not knowing the course I did struggle a bit even though it wasn't as tough as Trentham. Towards the end my heart started doing a funny flutter so I slowed right down to a walk. It settled down very quickly and I realised I was near the finish so sprinted to the funnel. Not my best time but not the worst either. I'll definitely give this PR another go and as it's so near to home might even have a mid-week run there. Well done on your 44 mins 17 seconds- I'm still aiming for below 45 mins. 😆
Well done, going off too fast seems to be a thing, im walking with my neighbour in the morning but might practise running really slow afterwards just for ,5 minutes because what feels slow nowadays is faster than i used to run and i have to walk a bit
