Out of the 3 pairs of shoes i ordered this week ive now worked out what each pair will be used for. The Saucony's will be my new walking shoes, for days when i don't run and go out walking instead.
The Reeboks will be my everyday shoes, for shopping in and general use, being black all over they are slightly smarter than the others and will go nicely with jeans through the winter or even casual trousers
The Brooks, the more expensive of the 3......these will be my new running shoes, they fit perfectly and feel soft and comfy, lots of cushioning, as well as feeling springy. They've not been on long but already i know these will work well .
Tomorrow is a non run day so i can wear them in indoors just to be sure ready for Parkrun on Saturday.
Thank you for putting up with my ramblings about shoes. It'll be probably a year before I'm tempted again.

I swore I'd never have another black cat, the last one i had bit too, but Willow chose him and spoilt him, actually he doesn't bite so often lately and im quite fond of him, he curls up next to me but he doesn't purr. When he was little my hands and arms were ripped to pieces, i didnt have to do anything he'd just pounce grab and bite.
I've had three black-and-white cats and two black-and-white dogs, counting Jedi. His predecessor, Cassis, was also a Border Collie Cross, and as a puppy he'd try to herd me by nipping at my ankles.
Ive had cats of all colours, a few jack russels 2 greyhounds and a border collie cross, she was amazing and one day i arrived home from work to find her sitting guarding 5 cats she'd managed to herd into a corner, she looked so pleased with herself. I promised myself I'd have another dog when i retired but its not possible where i live so i just share my daughter's border collie who i see most days. When i run over the Downs i remember the hours of walking dogs there.
Nice selection Sue. 😍 I have Brooks Ghost 14s for road and Cascadia 16s for trails. Also multiple pairs of various Revels which are still fine, but they can’t be due to the mileage I’ve done in them. 😳 So they’re semi retired. All black too except for my garish pink Cascadias. I’m hoping they’ll get dirty enough to disguise that before long!

I’ve got my mint green Sauconys and royal blue Hoka trails for running, but have become addicted to Skechers for everyday wear (Go Walk and waterproof) Much cheaper than running shoes from the discounters and like walking on air 😍
Once upon a time i had several pairs of Reeboks all white but with different coloured stripes along the side, at work one day my best friend whispered in my ear... "Sue, do you realise you have odd shoes on?" Hmm yup one had pale pink detailing and the other had pale mauve. In my defence I'd dressed in the dark.
Ha ha ha, i bought navy stilettos for daughters wedding, i had red suit, navy cami, navy tights and navy hat. About an hour before the wedding, opened the box to find the woman had given me odd shoes! Off came all the navy and polished my old black stilettos, black tights, black cami but didnt have another hat 😂And yes ive gone to work in odd trainers, but not different height heels.
But usually only last 6-8 months before I buy new ones so I have multiple pairs for walking in don’t really wear shoes anymore only running shoes in multiple colours always the same brand and model New balance 860 just go up to the new version
Sounds like the best plan, i was down to one pair, my runners so had a bit of a dilemma, to wear them for day to day things and stay barefoot at home, buy new, or just not go out unless for a run . ....the last one was tempting, then the cat ran out of food 😂.....
Don't worry! I like to see shoe posts, I have a very old pair of Nike trainers that have lasted me for a very long time, however, I will have to order some new running shoes soon. i run mainly on grass so I am guessing that I will be better off with trail shoes? I do not want to spend a smail fortune, so any ideas/recommendations would be great.
If you have a neutral gait, i bought some Mountain Warehouse trail shoes that were under £50 and would be suitable for grass. But that was after a gait analysis so i knew what should suit. Have fun looking
Many thanks! Yes I was considering going for an gait analysis. The local shop here charges £30.00 which I thought was a bit steep, but I guess it could save injuries potentially. I tend to wear the soles of my shoes out slightly on the outer part of my foot, rather than on the inner step part.
In one of your many shoe boxes??!!! Poor little thing- good thing we all know you don't mean it. You wouldn't be without her .And my little dog would not cope!
He clearly lives you too!! -Joys of pet ownership! A few years ago when the dog was younger we turned around to see her proudlytrotting down the garden towards us delicately carrying a curled up hedgehog!!!

Until I started looking into shoe purchase online in the first lockdown, I didn’t realise how complicated it can be. I always hated shoe shopping, with one prosthetic foot I needed a specific heel height, and with a bunion on the other foot I needed enough width in the forefoot. May a time I would try on every possible pair in a shop even if I hated the style, just to get a decent fit. Or I would buy something too tight and hope.. I often ended up deeply depressed by the whole situation. I know lots of people feel the same about shoe shopping! I also wasted a lot of money on shoes that didn’t work. Online shopping and the info available has improved matters no end!
I always read any post about shoes in this forum avidly. My shoe situation has changed again since my bunion and hammer toe surgery. I have gone up a full shoe size and I would be far too embarrassed to disclose how many pairs of shoes are being binned or given away to charity shops as a result. Online shopping via sport shoes dot com gives me details of purpose of shoe, fitting, and most importantly for me, foot drop.. because my prosthetic foot needs very low or zero foot drop. I now only possess in total two pairs of shoes, Saucony Kinvara 13 in white and Saucony Peregrine 12 in navy, both 4mm foot drop. I’ve never had so few shoes, but most importantly they both work for me!
I think you have given similar careful thought and research to your three purchases, so it sounds like they will be good ones. I’m with you on not looking for any others for a while though - it takes nearly as much effort as the actual walks and runs 😂
Shoe shopping is a nightmare, hence me ending up with only one pair of shoes (i dont count stilettos and sandals as i so rarely wear them) .I have psoriasis on my feet and dermatologist said dont wear shoes, trainers let your feet breathe. I know the makes i can comfortably wear and tend to stick with them.

Aha found it.... 3 pairs!!! how lovely and yes I agree - mine were brooks and I knew they'd be fine so I went ahead and wore them first time for my 16 mile run as my old trainers gave me a blister. They were perfect and felt amazing!!
Thats brilliant, im still mixing them up and think ive worked out which pair will be for just running. Yeah, i went a bit mad but i only wear trainers so decided to replace the lot
