I Just Ordered My Trail Shoes 😁

So excited 😁

Salomon Supercross Blast GTX in bright blue. They are men's but so are my road shoes and they are fab. These are supposed to be great for mud and soft surfaces without being too full on.

I love Salomon walking boots and shoes and have gone through 3 different pairs of those. They are the only ones I have never had to wear in and I really struggle with new shoes. I hope these runners are just as comfy.

Obligatory new shoes post with pic to follow...

Yes of course. They may take a while to arrive as they are coming from Europe somewhere I think.

Well I wished I had been wearing them in this mornings run. There is so much soggy ground with all this rain we've had

Great shoes but it is a must on this forum to take a photo and post it on to all of us

Yes I will do that when they arrive. Fingers crossed they will fit properly.🀞

You will probably approve Al since they are blue

Blue is my favourite colour - I am not a girly pink kind of person 😁

i went for a walk in my running shoes this morning and had the odd sprint (was around the streets not my usual route) and it felt a bit damp and i wondered if I needed to move to trail shoes for extra grip now we're heading to winter. Only been running since April so still figuring out my kit.

I guess it depends where you run.

I've been running more on the road recently because of the wet weather and some reports of an unsavory character lurking in the woods. But mostly my preferred routes are across fields and through woodland. I ran a short section across a field yesterday and it was really slippery in the mud in my road shoes. That's what convinced me to get them

Thanks for the reply, I partly run on pavements, some local trails which are pretty muddy at the mo and an unadopted type road which in places gets muddy and wet as its between two fields. Walked one of my routes today and the farmer has churned the field up and I couldn't find a way through!

Can’t wait fur run report with your new trail shoes- I’m keen to hear from people to see if it’s worth getting a pair myself (most my runs are 50/50 trails/road or path)

I was reading that trail running shoes also have a good traction grip when it's icy, nevertheless still be careful if running in icy conditions.

I'm a bit more like 75/80 trail and in winter it will be soft and slippery underfoot rather than hard and wet.

You can get shoes that are hybrid road/trail.

If you are not sure why not visit your local running shop for advice and to try some on

I am so glad I got mine. It’s not even so much about the grip for me, more the extra stability from the wider sole as I am scared of turning my ankle or messing up my knees. They are also reinforced around the edges so if a stick goes into your foot it won’t go through the shoe - that hurts!

I've bought some gortex trail shoes from NB -same as my trainers.

I'm size 10.5 in trainers so have to buy mens. They are boring and black! The brooks I tried didn't fit although they looked nice and felt a much better quality in terms of material. I'm probably going to get some Solomon walking shoes when I replace my others....my partner wears them all the time.

The second thing I bought was a bum bag!! Very 80s which is probably the last time I had one.
