After my 70 minute 8K run on Sunday, I wanted a shorter run this morning. So, running somewhere different by the beautiful lake Rudyard. Originally, I was going to do a slow, Zone 2 run, but once I set off, the air quality was so good I couldnβt help but run a little faster!
The ground was a little wet with a few puddles. The trail is mud & compacted stones, but I had brought my trail shoes with me in anticipation of this run. I really want to run all round the lake, but my companion suggested a walk round the west side first as itβs more challenging and I conceded that heβs right, so Iβm not sure if Iβll be running all the way round on this trip. Maybe a walk on the west side on Thursday afternoon.
Itβs cooler up here, too - 11 degrees (feels like 10) so I felt much more comfortable on this run. A few spots of rain at the start did not dampen my enthusiasm! It wasnβt particularly early but not many people about.
I covered 3K on this run, which I was pleased with for my current level of fitness. I often try to speed up for the last km, which I did today - 7:35. I stopped at 3K, a few seconds short of 25 minutes. πππββοΈβοΈ
