NRC podcasts

I think I mentioned before that sometimes my NRC plan podcasts just stop working, one time in the middle of an interval and I was left belting along thinking "This is a long 3 minutes" or whatever....

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, switching the phone on and off, restarting.. today I phoned Nike. They say the problem is at their end and will improve when they apply updates. How can this be when we download the podcast and listen off line?

Incidentally, my old phone will play the podcasts with no problem at all.

Anyone else have problems with the podcasts?

Not yet listened to Coach B on anything other than the NRC app, but I'll get to the podcasts. Hope this gets sorted soon!

That's what I meant, the plan podcasts in the app.

Yes! This happened to me last week on my grumpy tech fail run!

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto....

It’s been ok since. I couldn’t I understand it either. It seemed to be linked to the lack of signal but I didn’t think it should need any because the run was downloaded 🤷‍♀️

Here's another weird thing...I've finished the HM plan (as far as I'm going to this time round!) so I started it again because I enjoyed it so much... I needed to download the first week podcasts again, so I did that on my new phone, and when I checked the old phone they were there as well....how did that happen?

I’m doing the HM plan at the moment. This morning it was a particularly tough speed run in the rain. I was willing the app to malfunction halfway through but no joy…, There was joy when it was over though!

So strange the runs are downloaded on the new phone. I’ve found some I’m sure I’ve removed and still there. Weird.

Ha ha, willing the app to fall over! I enjoyed the speed runs more than the long easy runs, that was a big surprise to me!

Me too! I absolutely love them. Sometimes I only realise I love them when they’re over but there’s nothing like them for feeling totally alive! I think my natural happy long run distance at the moment is around 10-12k so I find the longer runs a bit of a grind.

Yes, I sort of fell apart at the 16K runs, I did one....then couldn't manage any more, but my thyroid doesn't always behave on the longer runs, I just run out of energy. I'm thinking of catching up on the longer ones as well as redoing the early shorter runs on the programme, at least the weather is coolish.

I’m supposed to be hitting 15km tomorrow but that feels a bit fast coming back from an injury. I’ll most likely either repeat 12.5km, or drop back to something a bit shorter. I’m feeling the need for a rest week! I often find programmes a bit relentless and need to add in a cut back week or two along the way.

Good luck with your longer runs. There are a lot of fun shorter speed runs in the programme. I only run three times a week and I’ve managed to do some new ones every time I’ve been through it!

I'm feeling pretty good at the moment, so I'm going to give the 15K run a go, seize the moment so to speak.

If you feel the need for a rest week, you almost certainly do, unless you are training for an event the plan will wait.

I use the app regularly and it seems fine. I’ve found that my phone does random things in the pocket on my leggings, probably due to rubbing on my leg as I run 🤷🏻‍♀️. It can pause or change apps altogether. Once I FaceTimed a friend and heard ‘Hello? Hello?’ Coming from my pocket 😂 I’ve found if I start the app/ run and turn my phone off then it doesn’t do it. That might not be very useful at all sorry 😂

Ah yes, that could be it, never thought of that, perhaps I should use the case...
