Felt I could go on longer today but can anyone assist me.
I've been doing my c25k in the gym yet the treadmill never actually records 5k
4.5 today - is this to do with the speed i'm going at 7.5 no incline so I know slow but I'm 14stone 56 year old woman wanting to do the marathon since it first started!!!
I'm aiming for the London Winter run first and hope I'll get to the marathon but well whatever I do I never seem to get beyond 5k or working towards 10k.
Help, assistance and advice required please.
Many thanks
Jo

C25k is not about distance but duration / time, I have completed the programme twice and yes can run non stop for 30 mins, but my best parkrun time for 5k is 35mins, and generally more. I too have done most training on a treadmill, would suggest trying it at 1% elevation as well.
Very few people can run 5k on graduation, despite the name of the program. Running 30 minutes is what you are aiming for on your final day . I ran about 4k when I graduated, and 5 years later I still can’t run 5k in 30 minutes. But I can run 5k, 10k or 10 miles.
Don’t worry about your speed at this stage, just get to 30 minutes and post it on the c25k forum and you will get further advice about consolidation and then extending further.
