Tim’s Run at Southsea parkrun

This is a quote from Tim on the C25K Forum.

“For me, whether as a runner or a marshal, parkrun makes me smile broadly and sets up the weekend…..it is a wonderful experience……...DO IT!!! “

So what better way to celebrate Tim’s life than to run Southsea parkrun in his name today.  I gathered a little posse of C25K graduates.  JonathanP , Mr Coddfish , Oldgirlruns and I ran, and Coddfish and UpTheStanley volunteered.  We wore Tim’s Run Badges.

Following spring tides and high winds over the last few days , our promenade was strewn with shingle, sand and seaweed this morning, which along with 30 mph winds made interesting running.  We all ran at different paces but could be seen smiling broadly all the way.

Greatest sympathy to Tim’s family and friends at this sad time, but be reassured that his legacy will live on with HealthUnlocked .

A very inspiring post from you Dexy5, those are lovely photos you have shown us, certainly Tim would have loved them as everyone is smileing after their run and volunteer duty at Southsea, no parkrun for me today as I will be running my first full Half Marathon tomorrow in memory of Tim.

Just perfect! Smiles to do him proud!

Is it okay to save this phot on a folder I am popping all the location photos into. We are hoping to compile an forum album to show how far reaching Tim's support was x

It was great to join the Southsea crew this morning to mark such a special occasion in honour of such a special person.I had wondered whether this would be the parkrun where I would get back under 30 mins - but the beach transplanted onto the prom and the stiff south-westerly put paid to that! In any case, that wasn't really the point - it was for the joy of running, which there was in abundance! A very appropriate tribute....

It was great to run this with you JP. Just think, if it wasn’t for the forum, we’d probably be running at the same event but not got to know each other.
