Snooze and I lost … but only once

So yesterday my plan was 5k before work but my bed was sooo warm and cosy, I hit snooze one too many times and didn’t leave any time to get out. Spent the rest of the day being more than a tad annoyed with myself but nobody to blame but me !

Today quite determined to get out so no snoozing for me. I was met with the most beautiful sunrise on my route 🌤. Thought I might try 8k again (Magic Plan) but after 4K just felt a bit yuk. Pressed on to the 5k and then walked briskly back home - I wonder if flu jab yesterday had affected me without me realising 🤔

Hark at me - always looking for reasons and excuses - so no! be satisfied, I told myself - after all I would have been thrilled with 5k 8 weeks ago !

From reading other posts, many of us are having sleep problems. Just like others it seems, I have all sorts of worries on my mind at the moment which are definitely affecting quality of sleep.

On the up side - Friday is my night out so I will have red wine assisted slumber tonight 🤭🍷 which often works - for the first few hours at least.

After todays effort, Mr Garmin recommends 4 days rest - he can be such a nag 🤣 I think on this occasion I will ignore him and try for 8k on Sunday or Monday. The positive effect running has on me far outweighs my need to rest at the moment.

Hope your next run - whatever it turns out to be - is something you really enjoy.

More power to us 💪🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️💪🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️💪

I don't think it's an excuse I bet it was the flu jab.

Enjoy your night out and lets hope we all sleep better tonight 😴

Thanks - arm ached a bit towards the end of the run which was what made me think. Glad Mr Garmin said rest - blowing a hoolie out there at the moment.

Hope everyone is OK on Park Runs and hope weather calms down soon.

Red wine going down very nicely - cheers 🙂

My Garmin doesn't tell me to rest. Just as well, I can be an argumentative so and so 😂

Very well done you...you had a good run.. !

The effects of the injection were probably contributory, I think we do sometimes forget how they impact on us. I know when I have my flu and my Covid booster in two weeks time, I shall be resting up to let them start their work :)

Rest up and see how it goes on, and maybe Monday? I am a tad overcautious after forgetting. despite my constantly advising folk to do it, to listen to my body a year or so back and am still building back from that.

Thanks Oldfloss - sound advice. Covid booster next week so may have to adjust plan for a couple of weeks.

Well.. the Covid booster is one to watch.., ours is on the 8th! A battle goes on for a while in our body and hopefully won't impact too much, but yes, the runs will wait :) x
