This was my first run for quite a few days as I had a stomach problem that made running quite uncomfortable.
So it wasen't part of my NRC plan, just a freestyle 5k Fartlek run .
And I actually quite enjoyed it !
It was shorts and t-shirt weather and a nice comfortable temperature outside .
I listened to a podcast this morning which was perfect for my run time .
It was 'Rockonteurs' with Guy Pratt and Gary Kemp interviewing Nick Mason of Pink Floyd Fame.
The run was quite uneventful which I guess is good π
I love the unstructured structure of a true Fartlek run , just take it by feel π
So 5k done , I can notice a difference in my running since completing the James Dunne 30 day challenge, I will continue with several of those excercises on my non run days !
Anyway, hopefully back on track (again)
And look forward to continue the NRC plan .
Happy running

I know, it's such a pain. Mr BFE had a head cold this week and now I've got a sore throat. We've both been testing negative π€ hopefully you'll be able to get back to your plan soon without any more hiccups π€π€
You definitely can feel the difference when you're doing some strength work as well, can't you? I noticed it with the physio's exercises but all that has gone out the window lately. I really need to start doing some of that again - shoulder permitting
Good to see you Ian! Wondered where you were, hope the tummyβs better now. Unstructured structure is just right I think! That podcast sounds right up your street πππ. Well done π.
Your tips kept me going through the C25K so Iβm hoping you stay well and running too - a constant presence that Iβm sure, has kept lots of others going too. Sounds like a great run π
It is thanks. Iβve realised I need coach to stop me stopping, so use the NRC - still working up to 5k but more accepting of shorter runs and just doing what I can. Have lots of family health issues that wear on my energy and stress levels and so, a bit at a time but Iβve decided Iβm going to keep running. This group has kept me going π
Great to hear.Saw Guy Pratt at the London Bass Guitar Show. He was telling about his time with Pink Floyd and also Paul Young covering those lovei Piano Palladino parts. Excellent.
The 30 Day Challenge looks like a worthwhile project. Seriously considering it.
Good luck with your return to running. π I have a tendency to pick up injuries too but the runs will always be there for us. I just wish I had the patience π
Thanks , the annoying thing is though they aren't actually injuries , there just annoying little illnesses which seem to arrive whenever I get close to 10 miles π
I only had around a week off so no big deal !
But yes, I could also do with a little more patience ππ
