As I was just about to start a 50 mile challenge throughout May to raise money for Samaritans I end up with an IT band injury that requires physiotherapy! Such good timing! Anyone got any words of advice of how to keep up my fitness so I don't fall back with my running? I have been told it could take up to 8 weeks to recover! 😔

IT band syndrome!!
Oh no, sorry to hear that. I have no advice but I just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery!
I had this problem when I was extending distance for the 10 miles. Too much, too soon was the verdict of physio. Luckily I sought advice before it was too serious so I was able to run on the days between physio exercises
Best advice is to do the exercises- they really help. As soon as you get the twinge when running, just walk, don’t run through the pain.

Thanks Dexy. I have ran through the pain to be honest, well slowing down but not to a walk. It started in my right knee and now I'm getting pain in my right hip too, sometimes a sciatic pain feeling. I've only ran four times since it started a month ago just out of pure defiance of what my body is telling me but last week thought it sensible to have a physio support proper recovery! ☺️
