S2R 12 - a bit wobbly

Hiya,

Did not run on Sunday, because I fell asleep on the couch and did not find the energy to run afterwards. And today I was so not in the mood either. But I kitted up and crawled on my treadmill. And look and behold, after a mere 2 minutes I was enjoying myself!

29 minutes of running and walking and my Runn sensor informs me I did 2,68 km. A far cry from my 10 miles end November, but whatever. Left pic is the sight I got on Conqueror where I am following the Inca Trail for my first treadmill bling.

The wobbly bit in the title is because I was a bit dizzy. Woke up during the night to turn on my other side a few times and felt the room twist and turn. Both my parents have issues with their balance thingy for which they take meds. And sometimes I get it too. It was better during the day, but while running it came back a little bit. Luckily I did not fall though!

As the last few times I felt a bit thirsty due to the dry air in my appartment, I concocted something to have a bottle of water with me. Some tying and snipping of a leg of thights, a cut up plastic bottle in said leg and this tied on the treadmill et voila, a place to keep my flexible bottle of water (see the black 'sock' below the handlebar in the right picture with the tip of the bottle poking out). And it is very handy to take the bottle out and put it back in.

Cheers, Evy

Well done at least it’s a run no matter what distance. Mr D had that vertigo balance problem in Bed the other night too, wasn’t very well in morning and he took stemitil and I take travel sickness pills for same. Like your water bottle good idea. 👍

Thanks and yeah the vertigo (that was the word I was looking for!) can be nasty. As said, both my parents take meds for it, but I don't yet as I don't have it that often. Had it this night too a bit, but less than the night before. So it's slowly going over again.

Sorry to hear about the dizziness BS but I’m glad you were still able to run. It may not be 10 miles but it’s still a run! And there’s bling to look forward to.! I love your water bottle invention - very clever! Happy running!

in reply to Oldgirlruns

Thanks, I actually found it clever too. Doesn't happen often that I think I am clever 😂

That’s very clever of you to sort your water bottle out like that, a good run on your treadmill too

in reply to SueAppleRun

Thanks, how are you feeling by the way?

We do love a bit of bling 🏅😃 hope your vertigo gets better soon. Well done on that run, especially when you've not been feeling great 👍

in reply to Beatlesforever

Yessss bling, my preciousssss. The vertigo is not all that bad, just annoying. But no meds for it yet, I don't have it that often and when I have it, it's not THAT bad that I would want another set of meds in me. Today it is already a bit better than yesterday 😊

Could be ears? The dizziness Meniere's ? I have had bouts of it... ?But you got on the TM and you did the run!

Your innovative bottle holder... brilliant!

in reply to Oldfloss

No idea what it exactly is, I only know my folks have it both in a degree they need to take daily meds for it. But it's not that bad with me, just have it once in a while. So nothing bad. Thanks for the 'brilliant' 😀

Maybe think about copywriting the prototype? :) x

Haha, I might just have to do that!

I used to enjoy the virtual scenery when I ran on a treadmill at the start of cto5k!

in reply to Roxdog

Me too, I have a little tablet on a tripod before my treadmill and I always play a running video on it. I currently look at video's from 'Virtual Run TV', they are mainly shot in Norway and very pleasant to look at.

Haha. I used to put on a run through a trail in New Zealand. I used to have a particular piece of music playing where the best part of the music coincided with me running alongside some deer near a beach. I loved it. It was in a gym, so the treadmill was really big and robust, with quite a big screen. It was loads of fun.

in reply to Roxdog

I have a rather small treadmill, not the most expensive and without a screen (except for showing the speed and distance). It was a gift for my birthday years ago and I did not know much about it back then, plus I did not want my folks to spend too much on it, so I chose that one. I guess that a bigger one with much more tech and stuff would be better, but my little one does serve me well enough.

As for the movies, I use a small tablet (bigger than a phone, but smaller than a regular tablet) which I got for free with a course (never finished the course but oh well). I have a bigger tablet, but it is old and can't be updated anymore and YouTube does not work on it. So I have to use the small tablet, luckily I can see enough of the movie. And I installed a tablet clamp on my photography tripod in which I can clamp the tablet. Perfect setup in combination with my Bluetooth earbuds through which I play some Spotify 😊

I love the bottle holder very be inventive 👍I read the title and looked at the pictures and thought well I'd definitely be wobbly if that was my view 😱

Good news that you are enjoying your running again .Take care

in reply to dijep

😂 I don't think I'd want to run there. Sometimes I even have issues with running on my treadmill while watching the YouTube video go on small and dangerous trails. And I AM ON MY TREADMILL! I actually 1 time ran a bit to the side when the guy making the video's had to pass someone. Almost fell of my treadmill 😂

Oh I can see how that could happen 😂

I like the idea of watching running videos while running. It reminds me that during one of the "lockdowns" we had here, where we were only allowed to exercise with a member of our household (for me that meant alone). I got into listening to rolling cycling interviews while out on my bike. So - listening to two people on a bike ride, chatting about cycling, while I cycled. It somehow helped with the loneliness 😢😅

in reply to DylanTheRabbit

Aww that sounds a bit sad! Luckily you can now join with other people? I listen to music while watching the scenery go by. I think the guy making the movies has a Go-Pro on his head or so. It is sometimes weird as it gives a higher perspective on people and building that I get myself, haha.

I get the whirlies sometimes when I’m lying down, it’s a really strange feeling. Well done on your run, and I’m particularly impressed with your tights water bottle holder, yay Evy! All the best 😊😊😊.

Thanks, the bottle holder is very useful!
