Northumberland run. Holy Island

Helenwheels sent me some brilliant running routes on Holy Island. Thank you.

This morning was the big one for me: from the village to the mainland and back before the tide covered the road at 8.30 am.

Very few cars. Just a big sky, all sorts of bird life , a whistling northerly wind (unexpected) and very flat until approaching the village.

11km in all.

I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I’d stayed in bed because I may not have the chance again.

Good run for you today HeavyFoot onHoly Island /Lindisfarne as it is also called, I was there some time during the 1970's, Mead is the wine that is manufactured on Lindisfarne, I had a sip of it when I was there, you certainly deserve it after your wonderful 11K run today 🏃🏾 👍

The mead factory is still there, but mead is not my cup of tea. Lindisfarne is a lovely place.

“Runs and Ruins”. There’s a slogan.

Oh how fantastic that must have been! And what an incentive to get it done before you get cut off by the tide 😁
