I see that most people seem to run with Garmin watches. I have an Apple Series 3 and am thinking of upgrading to a Series 7 as I use the iPhone and have a Mac so it makes sense. What I haven’t mastered is a really good way to record interval training on it. I’ve tried starting a run on the fitness app and then double tapping to record a segment but don’t find it very reliable when running and a bit flustered trying to double tab it. Has anyone mastered the use of an Apple Watch to make it work as well as the Garmin?

Intervals on Apple Watch
Hi, I use Run Interval app on my phone and I have an Apple Watch 6. It interrupts my music and cuts in with the beep. I use the free version and never had any issues in 12 months. I’d take my phone anyway in case of emergency, and I save my watch memory by playing music from my phone, so makes sense for me.
Use the ‘Example Custom Interval’ section in the middle and I just change it each run, although I usually use 60:30 at the moment. Good luck!
The person who should buy a Garmin watch is someone who cares a little more about having these richer sports tracking features and significantly longer battery life than what the Apple Watch currently has to offer. If you care about serious health monitoring, this is where Apple has the edge over Garmin. That's where the priority comes in. I'm more of a classic and order my watch topwatch2.com, and am very happy with the purchase and the quality.
