First Parkrun done ๐Ÿ˜

Despite the rain and the howling wind I did it! Didnโ€™t have a clue what was going on in the beginning so didnโ€™t start the NRC Fear Less 5k (the first 5k the app showed) until a minute or so into the run which meant that once I reached the finish I had to carry on running. Theyโ€™ll think Iโ€™m really keen!

My goal was simply to do it and not be last. I was 92 of 99 runners. Very happy with that. Time was 40:32, about 3 minutes faster than Iโ€™ve managed before so really pleased. Ok, my sons best friend did it 20:09 but itโ€™s not a race and if it was I wouldnโ€™t be racing a sporty young man 40+ years younger than me. Well done to him, he was third.

I think I might do it again next week ๐Ÿ˜

Well done. Itโ€™s a fantastic feeling isnโ€™t it? I cried after I completed my first Parkrun and thatโ€™s a good time. Well done.

Woohoo! Well done OldBadKnees - you did it! And with a good time too! Your sonโ€™s friend must be pleased with his time as well - itโ€™s lovely running with such a mixed age range isnโ€™t it?!

Thanks, really enjoyed it. I didnโ€™t see my sonโ€™s friend, he must have been really fast ;)

You beat your PB by 3 minutes - that is even better than me when I knocked off one minute off mine (still almost 2 minutes slower than you) at last week's parkrun. I chickened out today as I do not have trail shoes or more appropriately flippers.

Thanks, I was so hyped up for it I didnโ€™t even notice the weather (and Iโ€™m one of those women who is always cold lol). Very pleased with my time...except Iโ€™d planned to go really slow so every subsequent week would be a pb. I supposed Iโ€™ll have to try and go sub 40 minutes ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Well done ๐Ÿ‘ Iโ€™m thinking of going when the Scottish ones restart next week . Good to read of your experience . I also was running to the Fear Less NRC run yesterda6 but my phone died so will need to rerun that one ๐Ÿ˜‚

Enjoyed approx 3 K of it , then had to just listen to the wind and the birds ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bad luck with the tech fail. I made sure EVERYTHING was charged for this morning ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Sounds like a great first park run for you, well done. Ignore the young ones, youโ€™re running for a far longer time than them so beat them on that metric๐Ÿ˜‚ happy running ๐Ÿค—

Thanks. Plus theyโ€™ve got longer legs so Iโ€™m working twice as hard ๐Ÿ˜‚

Longer legs, even better, you can add a higher step count to your achievements ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hi, I also did my 1st park run & ended up among the last ones to finish, but I ran most of the way which Iโ€™m very pleased about!

Well done! Itโ€™s all about getting on and doing it, isnโ€™t it! I ran the whole thing (though anyone who saw me shuffling up the very steep pathway from the rugby pitch where we start to the seawall might argue with me ;) )
