Well maybe more of a lollop about …

Having succumbed to the snooze gremlins this morning, it had to be an after work run today. It was windy, warm and really humid but with a break in the heavy rain showers around 5:30, off I went.

This was my first run since my holiday and I had hoped for a sub-30 minute 4k. In the end it wasn’t quite which was a bit disappointing

So what can I say about this run?

I enjoyed being out there and running again – even if the ambience and scenery wasn’t quite the same as on Pen Llŷn

It felt good, especially for the first 2km.

Even though I was hot and quite tired after a day at work, my heart rate didn’t rocket but climbed steadily over the duration of the run.

I was ready to stop at 4k and had very little left in the tank at the end this time.

My average pace wasn’t that far away from what it was back in March before I got injured.

Splits 7:43, 7:22, 7:37, 7:41.

So definitely positives to take from this run.

I’m not sure what I’ll do for my next run, but I want to extend my distance out again at the weekend with the aim of reaching 10k again before the end of the month.

The stats are from todays run, but the photo isn't related at all. It's the sunset from the balcony of the cottage where we were staying in Llanengan looking towards Uwchmynydd and Ynys Enlli - just because it is so beautiful.

Thanks Ian. Fingers crossed I'll get there as I have signed up to another charity virtual 10k through work. If needs be I can walk some or even all of it

That’s a nice 4K run for you, Diane! I’m sure you’ll get back to your former fitness and pace, but I hope you will take it steady, too 😊

That’s a gorgeous sunset from your holiday!

Thanks Julia. It's just a snap on my phone but the view was wonderfulI'm not going to push too far too soon

I'm signed up for a charity virtual 10k through work in 3 weeks time so it should be doable - without deploying too much artistic licence on the 10% rule

That’s a great goal, I don’t doubt you can do it!

Well done!

I'll be staying north of Aberdaron from Friday evening.

Have a photo overlooking Porthor (Whistling Sands).

A path, a gate and cliffs in the distance.

Oh I'm sure we walked that path last September. Loved Porthor, but it was blowing a hooly when we were there

Unless you parked up at the barn at Methlem rather than the official National Trust car park, maybe not.
