Sore knee

My left knee is currently sore around the kneecap and hurts when I walk down the stairs (in fact my right knee is a little stiff on walking downstairs too).

I think it may be the tendons and I’m wondering whether I need to rest for a while. My training is going well and I’m due to run 4 miles tomorrow which I’m looking forward to and am planning on running outside. I’ve been gently using the massage gun on a low setting hoping my knee will be better tomorrow. If not I may have to take an extended break which is annoying as I’ve only just started getting fitter.

Sorry to hear about your knee,These things are a real frustration but if it's causing you pain you would be better not running on it .Take some rest

Yes, you’re right. So annoying though. I’ll give it a few days rest before resuming. Never had knee problems and don’t want to make a niggle into something worse.

I have had a few knee niggles here and there and after looking into it realised that they can be a symptom of an issue somewhere completely else.

So here is a post with some knee focussed strengthening exercises that might help, and going to a physio is always a good idea

Until then, here the post and hope it helps a bit healthunlocked.com/strength...
