Brooks Adrenaline GTS21'S - Any advice for new shoes?

Hello all.

Any advice for people with new shoes?

My £25 pair of shoes which I've had since the start of C25K and have since done around 450km in failed on me the other day so I got some new ones today!!

I originally wanted to spend around £60 on a new pair but after being told that that was a low budget by friends and I for sure wanted a Gait Analysis done, I had the Brooks Adrenaline GST21s suggested to me in Runners Need after my gait analysis.

£102 (discounted from £120 because I'm a national Trust member means that these by far the most expensive should I've ever purchased for anything!! 👀🤦‍♂️😬

My plan was always to go for an interval run/walk tomorrow with my 8yo daughter where we run for about 60 seconds at a time but I wanted to see what you guys thought? Should I go for a 2-3km run instead?

You go and enjoy your brooks in whatever distance you want to run. They should last you 600km, could squeeze to 800 or so but keep for running or run/walk not walk on it’s own to last the distance. That was a great price you got them for. Properly fitted running shoes are invaluable. You’re worth it, they are worth it. Happy running 🤗

Thank you, will see how it goes in the morning. Running on a treadmill for Gait Analysis was awful haha

That’s to make it feel even better when you run outdoors. Have fun

Hi, I've had a look and seen you've already managed a 10K run ?

I also have been running with cheaper trainer's all the way..up to 10 Miles.. and to be honest they were ok..they got me here without much ado...and had to buy another pair of the same online due to lockdown.. they done me well..

As soon as shops opened I rushed in and

bought a pair of new ballence at £50.. thinking they were comfortable...

Until I tried them for Running.. nope..no good ..then continued with my cheaper pair..

But I knew moving forward I needed something better..

Lots of advice on here about decent trainer's and the advantages..

So I also only yesterday took myself for a gait analysis..

And Brooks were far the most comfortable I tried from the selection for my nutrual gait..

I had planned a 10k but wondered if it was to much to expect from a New fit shoe..

I can honestly say I had the most comfortable run I've had.. and carried on for a 12K ..

You definitely won't regret your expensive purchase!!

Happy Running and let us know how you get on 🏃

Thank you. Yes, completed a 10k and the most I've ran since doing it 2 months ago has been a 7k once at the start of May and one 6k last week.

If my daughter wants to come out tomorrow then so be it but if she doesn't then I'll probably do something between 3 and 5k

That will be a perfect distance to try out your new trainer's, I hope your daughter joins you 🏃🏃‍♀️

Congratulations on your new shoes! I've got the GST20's and they're great. But! We need a picture - it is the law 😄😄.
