Well I'm so chuffed, 6 Months post graduation... I'm running regular 10Ks

Furthest on my HM training has been 14K last week πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

My 5K time has gone from 44mins at graduation to 35.45min 5K

Which I managed this morning 😊

I really pushed for it today, ran a 10k on Monday.. Tuesday and Wednesday were strength training days which I've just added skipping into🀣( that's tough) but read it's really good for our Running training!

I'm really noticing the inclines are easier.. can push faster for longer.. and my calfs don't seem to ache as much in the last few runs..

6 months hard work 3 runs a week..and I can totally say I feel like a proper runner now πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒŸ

Happy Running all πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒŸ

Well done sparky66, that is inspirational to read what you are doing. I’m still on W8R3 and start W9 Monday ending Friday. I hope to build up to 10 over the summer. You’re doing great!

Blimey, well done Caroline, your flying along, dont think i'll be keeping up with you now, not really getting the time to fit in so many runs, especialy longer ones, did a 6.5k tonight which wasnt too bad, despite the heat!!! πŸ€ͺπŸ₯΅πŸ€ͺ

I'm lucky in the sense I don't have work or a busy lifestyle Peter.. so I suppose progress is easier for me 😏I'm thrilled to hear you got out for a good run..

the heat is really challenging!! I've not once before had to stop for a drink on a 5k..but this morning had to twice! Actually I feel a bit of a fraud because of that, gave me a sec or so to get my breath 🀣

But I will take it anyway πŸ˜‚

I feel the same every time I break a PB. β€˜It’s surely impossible that unhealthy old me could do that time, I’m not even a real runner!’ πŸ™‚

Well done Sparky, impressive time. I seemed to have stuck round 40' or a bit over, not too bothered, I'm never going to race, except against myself. I was definitely a bit lethargic this morning, tho set of at 6 to avoid the heat. Putting it down to a very large glass of wine last night. It really makes a difference what I eat/ drink the night before a run, how late I eat too... I'm trying for 13.5k by the end of June. What is your skipping workout?

sparky66 profile image
sparky66Graduate10β€’ in reply toMormor1

Thanks Mormor1 ☺️ I'm less fussed with pace either and love a slow pace of the longer runs πŸ‘

But like to test myself on a 5K once in a while 😜

I was planning a longer run in the morning, but I don't know if I will manage in this heat.. like you I will have to set out as early as possible.. see how it goes🀞

Definitely what we eat/drink and sleep makes a difference to our performance..

I'm sure you will manage your goal for the month πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

Mine is the 10mile marker πŸ˜…

Skipping... I just bought a skipping rope last week.. and was surprised to find I could actually jump it 🀭

So I've just been doing 3 repetition of 20 jumps amid my workout routine..and will increase as my stamina improves.. but it's quite hard ..but fun πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I'll give skipping a go lots of bit of rope lying around...think it's the high humidity that's the worst for me running..
