I’ve so far done a week of normal consolidation runs, 8 k on the dreadmill (two sep runs) and a 5k yesterday on the dreadmill
For some reason tho I seem to have lost my motivation without the app and a target. Am not bothered about running to ten k or whatever but has anyone any ideas about what I could do to keep going ? Am so proud of myself I don’t want to stop running
Maybe it’s just going back to the dreadmill now the gym has opened ?

You deserve to be very proud of yourself on continueing to run, as it is getting very close to summer, you don't need to run on the dreadmill (threadmill), you can run outside, concentrate on running 5 to 8K's, if you want to run a 10K OK.
Thank you. It was pretty warm outside on the days I did the treadmill and I prefer it when it’s colder. Any tips for running outside when it’s warm please ?
Drink and take plenty water when running in warmer weather, if it's really warm, +20C or more try running as early in the day as possible, wear light shorts and a sleeveless vest or T shirt.
Last summer when the maximum temperature in the afternoon was +25C or above I started my runs as early as 6.30am when the temperature was 13C and the sun was still shining quite low in the sky. 😊
I am doing week 9 runs with a different 5k instructor each time because I like the feeling of being cheered on as I run and it keeps me in the 3 times a week vibe which motivates me. Also keeps me motivated to create motivating playlists. My plan after this is to increase by two mins a week a long as my body feels ok with it.
If you want someone to sound off to or check in with I’m up for that
When you've been working towards a target for a while, it's a loss to be without it. Maybe a temporary drop in motivation is inevitable for some of us. I felt just like you when I finished C25k in Jan but I had to stop running for two weeks after having minor surgery and it was the fear of losing my hard-won fitness that got me going again. Last week I reached my target of running for 60 mins and I now feel the same drop in motivation again. I'm going to give myself a couple of weeks of just running when I feel like it and then, hopefully, start on a new target of 10k. Maybe you need a target? It doesn't need to be 10k. Mittymoo's suggestion of increasing distance by two mins a week might do it?
After I completed C25k (just before first lockdown) I found it hard without the app. I set myself distance targets which I increased a few yards each run which helped a bit. With the lockdown limiting exercise time, walking the dog accounted for my hour a day so lost interest completely.
I am now on w5 of another attempt and even with the app was getting bored road running. I have started running through the woods and the variety makes it much more interesting.
For running on the treadmill I have downloaded an app called Bitgym (but have not actually tried it yet). This has routes to run and the speed you travel is picked up by using the camera to determine how fast you are running. In theory it looks good.
You've summed up exactly how I'm feeling too. I decided to think of the consolidation runs as weeks 10-12 so that in my head I'm still ticking them off. I actually woke very early this morning when it was still dark and my first thought was "I don't want to go out". It's got harder and harder to keep motivated. For the first time I didn't get up and go out but ran this evening instead - which I enjoyed far more than I expected. The mental relaxation after a day working was wonderful.
I also started listening to Hamilton this week as I ran and am going to get some more musicals lined up to keep me going. (I might even learn the proper lyrics to them too!)
Still pondering what to do after work 12 is up on Friday but the extra 2 minutes sounds like a good idea.
It’s hard now the actual challenge has gone isn’t it ? Am not sure I’ve consolidated enough to start running any further yet either. Still not done five k in 30 mins although I hit it when I add the warm up and cool down. I’m going to maybe try the Nike app but at the moment I think I’ll stick with Jo Wiley ! It also feels harder now I’ve done the 30 mins to keep doing them which means I defo need more consolidation. Arghhh Let me know how you get on. I don’t want to give up cos it makes me feel great after but it’s just pushing myself
