Just checked the local forecast (North Bristol): for tomorrow afternoon, it's showing two hours dry and sunny at 5C. That's too good to miss!
Regular running is important for me to maintain health so I've been trying to avoid going out when there's any risk of ice. I figure it's better to miss a few runs rather than break something and be out for months. As a result, I've been missing out on my short runs (but, so, far, I've managed to keep my weekly long run). Not ideal, but enough to keep things ticking over until I can get back to my routine (well the rough outline that counts as a routine in my case).
Happy running!

Perfect plan, mummycav and I did the ice falling yesterday to prove to you all you should wIt🤣 I'm waiting for 7 deg and rain on Monday 🤣 happy running 🤗
Ouch! Hope you and MummyCav recover soon. I'm going to stick with my "just keep it ticking over" approach.
Ironically, I'm a skier too (hence the user name) but I find it much easier to cope with ice on skis than when I'm walking or running. So long as there's some room, I'm usually OK. It's the big piles of snow in flat light that tend to take me out but, as you said, it's a case of pick yourself up and get on with it.
Totally agree, bad light is so hard skiing but I feel it’s given me special sight to spot icy surfaces the rest of the year. Ski slopes close to me opened in Scotland at new year just to be immediately closed due to lockdown, next year, or the following 🤣
Ahh good to know SM! 🙏🏻 I shall look forward to that warmth!
You’ve been smart taking it easier in this weather though. It’s simply not worth the risk on slippery pavements. I’m so lucky not to have to run on them at the moment - I’m fact I have no choice.
If we had a proper lockdown we could run on gritted roads! Off-road running in well maintained parks might be an option as long as it isn't swarming with other users on their 1 allowed outing!
