Bother!

I hope these injuries aren’t becoming a repeat thing!! Woke up this morning hardly able to walk on my right foot (the opposite to the one I pulled in my graceful treadmill tumble!). Pain down the outside of it and a quick google search suggested peroneal tendonitis. Got to the 6K distance on The Magic Plan but perhaps that was too much for me but frustrating none the less as I always ensure to properly warm up, cool down, stretch and foam roll.

Neither the dog nor I are impressed with the lack of walk!

How frustrating! I hope you recover quickly and can put a big smile on that doggie face (or tail). I’m no expert, but I think sometimes injuries can ‘cascade’; the adjustments you make to accommodate one prompts another. Fingers crossed, a bit more rest is all you need.

Thank you, I think you are right with the cascade! We managed a hobble down the road and lots of fetch in the garden to keep the tail a-wagging!

Ouch, how annoying. Rest and ice. Hopefully it will soon be better. Happy running 🤗

It does seem that your body maybe complaining

How about a week off; a planned holiday rather than waiting for things to get better?

Many runners take a week off every 6 months or so with good effect

That sounds like a good idea, thank you for this advice! 😊 it’s good to know I won’t put myself behind by taking a holiday

Google Bob & Brad as they might help if you can’t get an appointment in person. I think I had it after my first 10k whilst we were in lockdown. I had to stop running for a few weeks but it did heal 👍🏻

Thank you, will check them out this morning. Good to hear it will heal, frustrating to take a week or two off but I know it’s the right thing to do!
