Hi guys, just wondered if anyone else is taking part in the One Run global event on Thursday 10th December at 7pm for Human Rights Day?
It’s a virtual event where you chose to walk or run for 60 minutes from 7pm, there were other distance options as well.
The aim is to move your body for an hour at the same time as everyone else around the world, and you get a medal 🏅😬 I just entered and it says so far 6421 runners are taking part in 192 countries.
Brilliant idea, I’d join in if it wasn’t in the dark. I have a serious balance issue even walking in the dark, goodness knows what I’d be like running- apprehended in the belief I was drunk probably 🤣🤣
Hi guys just an update, you are not restricted to running at 7pm, they say you can run with another time zone. I went for training run yesterday at 5pm and it was already skippy underfoot and poorly lit in my village (despite wearing my body running light). I emailed the organisers as they had said to join another time zone as it’s a 24hr global race. I’m therefore running at 8am with Australia (I’m in UK) along a local beach promenade in daylight, and aiming for 9K, happy running all 🏃🏽♀️❄️
