I wasn't sure how this run would go today - after a tough and rather hilly 10k trail on Wednesday after which I paid the price with VERY sore quads! ๐ฑ๐
Feeling more comfortable today though, so set out at dusk this evening for my run - the plan to ENJOY and run off some of those worries that I know so many of us are struggling with at the moment, especially as another Lockdown looms!๐
Running on the local roads around my village this time, my route passed many homes who have really gone to town with their Halloween decorations!๐ป๐ I suspect that many young families are finding alternatives to trick or treating in the conventional way this year but it was great to see small family groups (safely) out on walks and admiring the various spooky scenes instead!
As for my Virtual Vitality 10,000 run itself - loved every minute of it! ๐๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐Today was not a day (alas!) for fast times or pbs, although not too shabby a time, all things considered. It was however, a run that left me feeling so much better in myself - and that is the thing about running isn't it? The power it has to restore, to top up our emotional reserves and make us believe there is a way through all this...crazy life! ๐ฑ๐
Keep running everyone - and stay safe.๐๐
P.S. Had to laugh at this Garmin Connect badge I collected today!๐คทโโ๏ธ

Good run for you today Sandra, congratulations on completing your Halloween Vitality 10,000, nice to see all those Halloween decorations at the doors and in the gardens of the houses you passed on your run.
Well done Sandra, another VV10K well and truly completed, and a very good time I think.
Todayโs news was most depressing and I resorted to a walk along the beach with Oldgirlruns to shake the cobwebs off. Lots of waves crashing into white foam In the sunshine. Very different to the torrential rain in the morning.
Not too shabby a time at all! Great job getting out there and earning your badge. My plan was to get out for a run as well but by the time the wind died down, the kids were out trick or treating and I wasn't comfortable with running then. I did manage to get my badge though with a strength training workout and the "Share the scare" badge by texting it to hubby ๐. I'm new (ish) to Garmin connect but loving the badges so far!
You're so right about running helping us get through this craziness. I let my running slide and I wasn't handling the chaos well. Now that I'm running again I'm finding my centre again.
Wow. Brilliant time and loved your report too!! I did the VV10 on 25/10 but following my dear motherโs favourite saying โif a things worth doing itโs worth doing wellโ, felt obliged to give it another go yesterday.
And the result of my efforts??? In spite of the wind (or maybe proving that a headwind does equal the benefit of tail wind) my time was still 1hr 11mins... but I guess it was worth trying!!
