Which to believe? Garmin always tells me I have run faster and slightly further 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know which one I want to believe 😂

I go for map my run on the basis that then I know I’ve definitely covered the right distance! And worst case if Garmin is correct then I’m actually doing more 😏

A friend of mine has a fitbit and I have a Garmin running watch. Her watch always adds an extra 200 meters onto a 5K on her. So too does her phone, but her fitbit and phone never match so she is always confused as to which is right. I have always found my Garmin watch and the Garmin watch I had before to be very accurate. I have even gone so far as to compare by measuring the 5k and 7k loop I run in the car in kilometres. And it matches with my Garmin watch. It is also very close to parkrun and road race distances. So I would trust the Garmin.

Of course, they could both be wrong. 😁

Yes I am convinced I am actually even faster and more athletic than either device reports But hey ho 😉

I'd believe the Garmin because Map my run is a free app where as Garmin is a multi-million pound business who would get slated if they were considered inaccurate.

In a way it doesn't matter which you choose as whichever base measurements you choose you'll probably push yourself to go further and faster anyway so as long as you stick to the same one moving forward you'll be grand.

And if ever you do an actual race, you'll be working off they're measurements so it won't matter what your watch says.

Plus the Garmin is working in your favour 😉

I’m definitely siding with Garmin for the stats! . I like the maps and the low key coaching approach With MapMyRun. 🙂

Strava always tells me I’ve run further and a bit faster than Garmin does

Just sat here grumbling to my son about Strava doing that! But at least it's free and I know it does it so I can still compare data over the past 18 months.
