Well, I ran so many worlds this morning that it was just fair to bag quite a few achievements!
On Zombie Run (running app with a zombie story) I managed to survive a helicopter crash, run from a mob of zombies, rescue crucial medicine and collect some underpants (clean, and still in its packet, so Iβm told!)π³
On RunLeJog I finally managed to hit the 50mile mark!!! Yes! I got one of those postcards!!
And at home I smashed 3 records: longest run, fastest 5k (fast is relative here π€£), and biggest elevation! And of course, it was a glorious morning!
To top it all off, I registered with Parkrun some time ago, and just put in my time for my local (not)parkrun. Iβm the slowest on there, but slowly does it....
For those interested in ZombieRun, here a tiny review:
At the beginning I wasnβt quite sure when to walk (warmup) and when to run slow or fast, so I just did my usual 5k routine. The app works with your music, which is really nice. So it comes on (like C25k app) only when something is happening in the story. On the way you pick up stuff, useful for upgrading your base. So overall really fun to be part of a narrative journey! And if your run is further than the story mission, it reverts simply back to your music. After the run you have your usual stats, just like a normal running app. So nice one! Thumbs up Iβd say! ππΌ
Happy running everyone!

That sounds great CBDB I must have a look at the ZombieRun app! It sounds like good fun so Iβll give it a go and report back. Good luck, and keep running from the zombies! π§π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Yes itβs great fun. And there is plenty of free stuff to see if this is something to buy into more fully! Maybe Iβll see you as runner 9 or 12 in Zombieland soon? We could probably do with more runners to keep the supplies coming!
Hi CBDB, Iβm signed up for the appππ Iβll give it a go to see if I like it before I decide whether to subscribe to it. It looks good fun anywayπ
Well done on getting to 50 miles on LEJOG. What an achievement. And an achievement on your 5k. You will be getting to JOG at this rate. I'll be waiting at the finish line cheering you on.
Thank you ! π I think I might just get home though! I would love to get one of those medals (would be my first) but Iβm just to slow to reach JOG in 365 days. But thatβs ok ππΌ . My mantra for myself is: long live slow! π
Right, what have you done CBDB? For the first time in my life you have me intrigued by zombies π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ! Sounds like you are having a huge amount of fun on your runs π
Yes! I know!!! Iβm really not a zombie-pop-culture fan, but I really love arts, stories, narratives. And then Iβm a sucker for creative tech. And since 6 months I indulge in my newest passion: running.
So to have an app where the developers have combined the power of storytelling with the power of data-driven running stats, and all to provide a real fun experience of keeping on running ..... wow! Just the concept is worth an Oscar, I think!
I think there will be more story telling to come for running apps, but this is the first and yes, I think running to Zombie Run is a humongous amount of fun!
Ha ha! Yes, I tried it with my son (16) but it was too uncool a concept for him! Teenagers! No sense for pop culture!
NRC was also declined. So he went out on an all-out run, not wanting to take it slow, and never ran since then because it was too exhausting AND too boring ! <sigh> I tried, but he will have to learn for himself , I fear.
It all sounds completely bonkers CBDB but possibly quite addictive! And itβs obviously helping your LEJOG ! Well done on getting to 50 miles - and welcome to Parkrun/(not)Parkrun!
Well done on so many levels! Fantastic 50 miles up on LEJOG04, longest run, fastest 5k, biggest elevation and a zombie story as well. What a great post CBDBππππ
