I see lots of people are doing the endtoend virtual Lejog, but when I went to look it up I found that other similar challenges are available, and I was wondering why this one is so popular here, whether people had tried them and what their experienes were. I see theconqueror's lejog is quite a bit longer for example.

Experiences of different running challenges (Lejog etc)?
I blame RunaroundSue ! She posted a link and sucked me in! 😅 One week in, and it’s lots of fun. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
I blame Kat332zz she mentioned it first
Sorry I take the blame. One of the few things Facebook advertised to me that I investigated further. It appealed to me as I lived my formative years on the North Coast of Scotland, now I’m stuck in London, I joke that I’m trying to make it to Lands End before I die. Don’t think it will happen as we now live approximately 4 miles away from where my husband was born, he crosses himself every time we go south of the Thanes😂
I made up my own virtual run in January- the NC500 which is actually a tad longer than 500 miles🤣 completed it earlier this month. A great way to count all your runs however long or short. Happy running 🤗
So no particular reason for choosing this one by the sound of it. You all seem to be having fun so far, must check out lejog5.
I also blame Runaroundsue. I hadn't even thought about entering a challenge but when I saw the post about LEJOG I thought it would be good to keep up my motivation for running. I have already thought of what I want to do next once I have finished this.
Yes, I also saw it on this forum and only with your email am I now aware that there are others!
Having lived In Scotland for 10 years, and missing it badly, whilst being here in the middle of England with my husband yearning for Cornwall, I thought the end-to-end challenge was just such a delightful mix of virtual and physical connecting the length of the country, that I couldn’t resist. (Even knowing that I’m too slow to reach the end in time for medal or T-shirt)
And as I am still anxious of falling of the running wagon, the nicely designed website of end-to-end with their offer of T-shirts, medals, postcards and an interactive map just seemed to provide that incentive to keep on running.
And then there were people from this forum signing up, some who already had!
How much better could it get?
Well it did, as the moment we started in our RunLeJog group, their posts became yet another source of inspiration to keep on keeping on!
I'm not interested in medals or joining clubs. I just wanted a long challenge to keep me running for the next year. A virtual challenge with supportive folk here is about as sociable as I'm ever going to get. Enjoying it so far.
I should probably succumb to the inevitable and just sign up for Lejog 5 shouldn't I!
I realised 1 September was getting close so have now signed up
