It's taken me 6 very enjoyable months to get here. It's not the fastest time in the world but that doesn't matter - I did it, I finally ran 5k for the first time in my life!

It's a 'Runners High' like I haven't experienced since Week 5 run 3 of C25K! I had a little cry, I can't believe that I did it - me! When I think of how I am 54, overweight, have never been sporty, have always found sport difficult.

I know that feeling 😊I was one of the kids that got left till last when teams were picked, not run since school and I'm 62!

Enjoy x

Thank you! I think lots and lots of consolidation (6 weeks) after graduating from C25K gave me a great platform to build on. I love the advice on here to take it slowly, it really works

Well done. It's a great feeling. Be joyful at your success.

Well done Foxglove2, a great day indeed, it’s amazing what the body can do if we just stick at it. I hope you’ll keep going with the running now as it really is a life ( and health) changer. 🤗

Absolute star! Well done on getting that 5k under your belt. Good time too. You've just proved that age and physique are not the most important criteria. It's determination and sometimes bloody mindedness that gets you there!!!!Happy running Foxglove2

What I love about running is that it’s for all ages. Everyone can do it and find a programme that’s kind to their age and circumstances and still get real health benefits

Well done and how lovely that you describe an enjoyable 6 months!

I'm coming back from injury and haven't run 5k in a while, but I do remember it felt like a milestone. Never think too much about pace, just carry on enjoying your running.
