New purchase!

My trainers are about 8 years old, so decided to go to a ‘proper running shop’, splash out and get new trainers. Toss up between these and ASICS. I’ve been staring at them and smelling them (new trainers such a nice smell!!) since I got them this morning!

Fab shoes!

I bought Mizunos after my daughter encouraged me to go for gait analysis and they’ve served me very well 😊 Happy running!

I had never heard of the brand before. But seem very comfy.

Fab new shoes and what a gorgeous colour, I'm sure you'll notice the difference compared to your old pair when you take them out for a spin.

Enjoy and happy running :-)

I’m really hoping that I’ll notice a good difference. Won’t get out until tomorrow so I’ll have to wait and see.

Also, how are your brooks doing?

I'm sure you will, you'll be running on clouds :-)

The new Brooks are great thank you, I've only managed to get out in them twice so far as not been feeling well but planning to try a long slow run at the weekend. So far, so very good though, thank you for asking.

Enjoy, let us know how your first outing is and happy, comfy running :-)

Lovely new shoes, I wonder if your new running shoes will still have "such a nice smell" after you have ran 10K in them. 😊 🏃🏾

10k today and all good with the trainers. Sun on my face though wasn’t so nice, cue the exploded tomato look.

Isn't it bad when we're hoping for cloud and rain in the summer so we can run more comfortably!! Did you find they gave you an extra something?? Hopefully no issues and they were nice and comfy

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toMum22boys

I was hoping that they would be so fab that I would just ‘float’ along but they’re not miracle workers! Funny, you posted that you old trainers too small, I had the same issue and have gone up a size. In comparison, more roomy and felt very comfortable. Also, this might sound weird, but I also felt more secure/confident in them.

Mum22boys profile image
Mum22boysGraduate10 in reply toLeosmit

It doesn't sound weird at all. When we spend that much money on them we have to feel good in them and I think safe and secure is really important. It was one of the reasons I picked mine

Love these and love the colour 💚

So pretty. My old trainers were Mizuno, had them for donkeys years and they lasted well, but that was before running, am tempted to try them again, will watch for you updates on how they go, or at least how you go in them😀

What are you currently wearing?

Kat332zz profile image
Kat332zzGraduate10 in reply toLeosmit

I now have three, Merrell with gortex trail shoes, Brooks that I got for the gym and Altra that fit well but the low heel drop kills me, use them infrequently when I know I’m going to do mostly walking.

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toKat332zz

Brooks seem to be a popular choice. I like that you have a little range to choose from!

I appreciate that now especially as I’ve just started a Lands End to John o Groats virtual challenge, don’t think a single pair would cope with it too well.
