Four seasons in one run.

Reminds me of the Crowded House song! What a run though! Not the time but the event. I love the rain and waited until it looked like it'd hammer down and then went. It thundered and hailed, so heavily that I used my hand to shield my eyes. Within a mile I was saturated and it was relentless. I loved it!! Around the Humber Seawall and every step was a splash. If I could repeat any run I've ever done, it'd be this one. 5 miles in 45 minutes of my heaven. I love running and I love the after glow feeling. The hot shower after was a medal in itself. This man in happy.

Fantastic run for you today GTFC in that awful weather, although you don't think that it was awful, you and Buddy34 love running in those conditions, me, no, I wait until the ☔ rain goes off before I run or go a bike 🚲 ride, enjoy the rest of the day, tomorrow in dry weather I will be running my 12th virtual 5K parkrun. 😊 🏃🏾

Good morning GTFC, I have just returned from my 12th Virtual Parkrun, I began the run at exactly 9.30 and completed it in a time of 33.21, the weather was dry and sunny with a moderate north east wind, according to Mapmyrun my average pace this morning was 6.42/km,

So a good run for me today, next Wednesday I intend to run my 8th 10K.

This is fabulous! Very well done. Heavy rain here near the Humber and strong wind. It's so hood you stick with your timings and routine and 33.21 is an excellent time. Will you have a little snifter this evening?

Ha ha, a little snifter, 😊I usually celebrate runs with a cup of green tea or a coffee with a piece of cake, I don't drink any alcohol unless I am offered it at Christmas, New Year or my birthday, its usually a glass of wine, I know that a lot of runner's end their run at a pub.

I am a member of a walking group club who meets every Thursday for a 4K walk round part of the the same route as I run, it's also off at the moment, but a few months ago I ran that 4K in 27 minutes, when I walk with my group it usually takes around 42/45 minutes, I just wanted to see what the difference was, one of the members told me he new a runner many years ago who went into a pub after a run, drank a pint of beer in around 10 seconds and ordered another pint immediately, some man.

You're so much tougher than the weather GTFC. I also like running in any weather conditions but I've yet to have a run in thunder. Excellent run 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️👍

Just a thought, I use a baseball when running and it keeps most of the rough weather out your eyes

Ooh good idea! I don't own any caps and my run jacket has a little hood. I adored it. I'm thinking of it now and miss it. It just makes you stronger going out. It was amazing to feel the storm and the ferocity of the hail stones. Running gave me all this and I'm so thankful!

Another vote for a cap - I have a lightweight running cap (I generally hate anything on my head). I still get wet through it but the peak does a great job of keeping the rain out of your eyes.👍

Sounds like a special one GTFC! I also love running in the rain - cold, blustery, autumn days where I can splash through puddles and mud are by far my favourite! The muddy paths are rock hard down here in Surrey now. My run today wasn't as wild as yours but I did get wind, rain, hail and sunshine too! 👍🙂

Runners are a strange lot aren't they? Most try to avoid weather extremes and we see the joy and pleasure in getting out in it. It has been forever since I've ran in a heavy rain, but it sounded so fun!

Oh wow, and flip, 5 miles is 8 k and i did that in well over an hour a while ago, the beauty of rain is a lot of people stay inside, at the moment here it’s very busy, so many not going to work and school so going out instead
