And if I had the energy, I’d cheer. Don’t know how you all accomplished this while working. I’m going to lay down for an hour to feel human again.

Great effort- are you going too fast if you are that exhausted at the end? Enjoy that lie down and back in the glory of 8k conquered. Happy running 🤗
Checked strava stats. I was going too fast. It’s funny because it always feels like I’m snailing along. Fast for me is 7m/km, vs normal is 8. So slow, but still too fast for my level of fitness.
If you think your slow i do 1km in about 9 mins......
👏👏👏👏congratulations on your 8k. Maybe you just need to slow it down a bit. But believe me when I say it does get better . By that I mean there comes a time where you won't be knackered at the end of the longer runs 😊👍
You are correct! I remember 5k feeling like death’s door when I first reached it. And it took about 10 CRs to make it feel comfortable. And I was going too fast after checking stats. Don’t know how, cuz I’m a 🐌, but I do know how to go slower 😉.
You did it!! Well done and do you know what? In time 10k will be there for you. Rest up and feel proud of what you did.
Yes it will! In the midst of striving for 10k, it’s easy to forget all the successes. Getting off the couch, eating better, having my son say ‘I’m proud of you mom’. 10k is really just a number in comparison.
Fantastic....you are certainly motivated. Keep it up
I'm not a natural runner, but am motivated. Overweight, out of shape and always aching and paining. Now I'm aching and paining from something other than arthritis and a sedentary lifestyle 😂😅😆.
I hope you don’t act on your forum name! Take it nice and slowly at conversational pace and you’ll do fine.
Hi Dexy5. Name was a cry for change. Trapped in an overweight, out of shape body, I just couldn't stay in it one more minute. Now it's just a great rememberence of where I came from 5 months ago.
