It was a coolish, cloudy day with rain promised today so I ventured out for a run hoping to see less people out and about, but there was still lots of jogging on the spot waiting for people to pass and backing up to avoid others involved. The Teddy Bear Hunt is still going strong and it seems Harry Potter and pals didn’t want to be left out either.
Lovely surprise in the mail box too when I got back as the postie brought a book I’d been waiting for and my St Georges Day Medal and a little card from NZ Post reminding us to keep our distance and just wave and smile at the postie. The run was to happen between the 23-29 April but the medals have been sent anyway due to Covid 19, so I’ve decided to run the race on 25 April which is New Zealand and Australia’s ANZAC Day, as for the first time in its 100 years the Dawn Parade and Poppy Day are cancelled, which is very sad, but understandable under the circumstances. To Captain Moore you are amazing! ❤️👏🏻
Stay safe and well everyone. 🇬🇧🇳🇿 😘

Thanks Comfortspeed, wish I could run with it on, but think I’d knock myself out! Its solid and heavy I’m looking forward to reading the book I’m just finishing your pace or mine which I’m really enjoying. 😊
Just read your post Comfortnotspeed congratulations on running for an hour. Hope you enjoy the 🥳🥳🥳
You've got bling Lexi that's a cracking medal ohhhh and Little HP doll I loved reading all the books brilliant for all ages 🙂 btw the weather in Welsh Wales is shsssssss perfectly perfect today 🌅🌄🌤️⛅ I'll package it up and post it with a choccy orange 🥳
Would love the weather but more the choccie orange. Perhaps I shouldn’t though, the bathroom scales gave me a fright yesterday, d’ya think jelly babies, Jaffa cakes and wine could be linked to it? 😊
Not having an ANZAC Day will be really sad for you all; I know what it means to you. So well done on doing your race on that day. Hope you managed to slalom your way round the other runners- navigating along our seafront can be quite interesting at times with people going all over the place to avoid getting too close. Fortunately it’s usually done with a smile or wave in acknowledgment!
The Returned Servicemen Assn have suggested that we could stand in our lounges or at our letterboxes at 6am as a show of support instead, so not sure what option I’ll take, depends on the weather 😂 yes dodging people is difficult the ones standing chatting to others when there’s no room to go around or between them really grate.
Thanks Jell, yes receiving mail is rare these days, we only get delivery 3 days a week now, so to get 2 parcels in one day is cause for excitement here. 😂
Ah...sweet to see Harry and chums peeking from the fenceposts Lexi...
Well done on your run, and good luck for the one on the 25th ti earn your St. George's day medal..👍you could wear it after your run and post us a piccy. x
Thanks BBr. I’m looking forward to this run especially now that the medal has arrived on time. I’m loving the yoga 🥰 and will let you know about the book. Hope your foot is responding to all your hard work. xxx
Thanks IP, my photo doesn’t do it justice really and I will have to find or make something to hang it up on to display it .Will let you know about the book 😊
👏🏼🎉 Lovely post. Thanks for the reminder about ANZAC day. I have a great recipe for something called ANZAC biscuits, so I will make them in honour of all you folks out there (including our grandson in Auckland.)
Oh thanks Granspeed I’d forgotten all about them, I haven’t made them for years and Mr L is partial to a biscuit or two. He must have been feeling a bit deprived as he made apple and oaty muffins the other day, so maybe I’ll make him a batch, hope your grandson is doing OK. 🙂
He says he’s fine but fed up with having his work invade his home life. So are lots of folks, I reckon. But he loves NZ and now has his resident’s visa so things are basically good with him, thanks. 😄
Thanks W&S, yes post is a rare occurrence here now, even our bills come by email and while we’re in lockdown we have been advised not to order anything online unless its essential. I ordered them before lockdown and even if I hadn’t; anything to do with running is essential right? 🤗 Hope you two are well?
