Ive not been on here a while altho do read everyone’s stories. I had new running trainers as a Xmas present and I find the arch on my left foot is painfull to walk on once I’ve finished my run(3/4m max) but the other one is fine. Any ideas from anyone please. Old shoes were brooks defiyance and new ones r brooks glycerine.

Have you ever had a gait analysis? I was suffering when I started first. Pain in my feet. I had a gait analysis done and I was over pronating. So I was advised on a stability shoe, never had a problem since.

Unfortunately there are no independent running shops open at the moment, but it might be good to do it after all this is over.

If the previous model worked for you just go for that model of shoe again.

Unfortunately they don’t make my old ones any more which is why I changed to the glycerine s. I think as u say Ile have to have a gait redone once the shops r back open. Just a pain being as there so expensive and I literally can’t walk on them.

Have you checked eBay? You might pick up a pair of your old shoes brand new. As they are old stock you might pick up a real bargain.

Like al runners I had a good stock of the difiyence trainers and had looked on eBay once I realised they had stopped making them. I shall look into new trainers once this is all over. Thanks for ur advice.

Hello, I have just quickly searched on the Brooks website .

"If you enjoyed the cushioning and drop from heel to toe of the Defyance then we would suggest our Ghost as a good option. The Ghost will match the fit and cushion level but with added room in the toe box for a little more wiggle room. The second closest option is the Dyad model. The Dyad has the stability benefits of the Defyance but with a lower arch."

I hope this helps, especially if you were given the wrong advice when you changed to Glycerin.

I did actually look at the ghosts as well which is even more frustrating that I went with the glycerine. And that only 1 foot is affected. But thanks for ur advice.
