Android running apps to track distance

I don't have a fitness watch so usually I run with my phone and do timed runs on an app called "Couch to 5k and 10k", however, I'd prefer to track my distance rather than time.

Does anyone have any recommendations for running apps that track your distance? I have heard about Nike Run Club and Strava but not sure which one is more accurate.

I use stava. This can be used standalone or like me linked to a fitness watch.

They are as accurate as the GPS on your phone. Strava is probably the biggest. If social media is you thing then there are various Strava groups, some HU ones, challenges etc.

Strava works well for me, i havent tried any others though but im happy with it.

You can try them for free and see how it goes for you.

Haven't tried Nike running club, but strava is good. You can have a setting tell you at each interval you like (mine is set at each km) and there are really cool segments that means you don't have to do the same route but can compare your times against a regular section. I used to use endomondo, but switched to strava because of the segments.

I have used strava for a long time now and it seems accurate to me 😊

Go for Strava. Not perfect but massively more accurate than map my run, which I used for a while.

I use runkeeper and set myself distance plans. Use the settings to get any stats you want as you go round, time and or distance.

I once ran with my watch and Nike run club going at the same time. Garmin recorded 5k and nrc 5.89k. Nrc is my new best friend - but only in the way you love a friend who tells you you look great when you know you look s***!!

I use both Nike Running Club and Strava at the same time and find that there's very little difference in their recording. I use both because I love the guided runs on NRC especially Coach Bennett. The Strava one is because my friends use it and we can see each others runs.

I liked RunKeeper, which I used until I got a watch. I used the free version & it worked fine - mapped the run & gave useful stats. I’m not stat-fanatic, so thought it was accurate enough about distance for my purposes, and the format was easy to use.
