I didn't manage to go to the shop to buy trail shoes (life was too busy) and now due to pandemia I no longer can. Need to do it online without option to try them on.
I have had size 7 Mizuno Wave Inspire 16 (brand new on the photo below) from beginning of January and they fit me perfectly. Would you know what trail shoes would have similar size/fitting to my Mizuno ones? And any good online retailers that you could recommend? My budget is limited at this point.
Ps. Trail shoes for wood and country paths, occasional grass and mud.

It can be really difficult buying online as you never know what’s going to fit or work for you. Most companies have return policies. But Brooks has a 90 day wear/return policy and Hoka has a 30 days wear/return policy. So I figure these are really valuable in being able to make sure the shoes are right for you. Also - Brooks seem to be fairly generous in supplying 10% discount code if you ask!
I don’t know if you have amazon prime... they also have a prime wardrobe section where you can select up to 6 items, they send them out and you return what you don’t want - pay for what you do. I found this a really helpful way of being able to try various different shoes and sizes without draining my bank account. Ovbiously you wouldn’t be able to try these outside but can run round the house etc!
They have lots of choice in their wardrobe section - Asics, Salomon, Brooks, Merrell new balance.
I have a pair of Salomon trailsters gtx they were roughly £50 on amazon and they’ve been the best I’ve had so far. Super comfy, waterproof, cheap.
Thank you Sar9! I do have amazon prime but never used wardrobe option - will check it out. Never tried Brooks but found Hokas too wide for me and not providing enough support around ankle.
Do you know if the fit i.e. toe box width, ankle support would be similar between 2 brands?
I tried few different brands when byuing Mizonos and others e.g. Hoka had very different fit. I found Asics and Mizuno fitting me similarly but had more space for big toe in Mizuno.
Brands can vary greatly, innov8, altra, hoka are all wide toe boxes. Salomon are very narrow throughout. If your road shoes are mizuno, check what mizuno offer for trail use. I think mizuno, asics, Brooks, saucony etc are pretty similar. Heel cups can vary from model to model too unfortunately. I've returned stock to sportsshoes.com with ease 👍🏻
Had to really stop myself with buying more stuff🤭 luckily managed to stop on socks only...
I'm in a similar predicament 🥺 it's the not trying on before buying that's off-putting......... I'm thinking eBay take a chance and resell of I buy wrongly
Sodifficultto buy without trying! Ispent at least 2hrs in the shop when buying my first road running shoes 🙈
GoGo_JoJo recommended thesportshoes site(link above) - maybe check their return policy? I bought from them and ot was really hussle freewithquick delivery.
I decided to go for the same brand that I already had for road shoes. The lenght is the same however fit is slightly different but still very happy with the purchase.
