VRWC weekly goal achieved!

I was a bit miffed to realise my two 5km runs had only shown up as 9.97km! So I headed out yesterday determined to get another 3km in under 30 minutes so that it would count. It was an enjoyable run, less muddy than it has been in the woods recently - the good weather has really helped with that. I set off feeling really down, having just heard about Parkrun being cancelled for the foreseeable future but a gentle 3k plod had me feeling much calmer and less worried about the current situation. And best of all, my run means that I met my goal which will help someone else get a vaccine. That seems especially important right now. Happy running all, hope everyone is staying strong, both physically and mentally. ☺

You have done very well regarding the VRWC runs, 9.97 and not 10K awkward, but now everything is fine, when I go a run for VRWC I link Mapmyrun to their app, it usually shows my run within a hour, so far all my runs have shown without any problems, my next run is a 5K which I will run locally at around half past nine on Saturday morning, lol, I wonder why I am doing it at that time, yes, that will be a virtual parkrun.

I might go and run my parkrun route tomorrow, I think there'll be too many people possibly going at 9am on Saturday...

I and most other people who run parkruns on a Saturday morning got a e mail from the founder Paul Sinton Hewitt, he says to everyone who runs

"respect guidance and do not organise gatherings either officially or unofficially at your parkrun venue" he continues to people who are thinking of doing that, "doing so will risk the good reputation of our parkrun communities"

So it will certainly be better for you to run the course at 9.00 am tomorrow, not on Saturday.

It could be interesting to see how many people turn up on Saturday at Bushy Park Parkrun.

I am just running when I can and letting the system make of it what it will! At least additions to team scores are showing now. 👍👍

I was just cross because I really wanted to reach goal and get the vaccine but fitbit had under measured my parkrun by a measly 0.03 km! I know that they measured the parkrun course with a measuring wheel so it is definitely fitbit getting it wrong!

My Garmin is on my side....reckons our Park Run course is a bit too long! I suppose you can lose/gain a bit of distance by running wide/narrow on bends if the track is wide enough for that to make a difference. Really annoying for you.

Had the same Saturday....my parkrun appeared short and so frustrating to have a just short distance. On the plus side got you out for a nice trot!!

Oh it's so annoying when you're out by 0.03 of a km🤣.

Your run route seems to be drying up and I hope it continues and it's great how a run can turn a frown into a smile 😊😊🏃‍♀️

Yes, my mood was 100% improved by the time I got home. Just hope we can continue getting out for runs, being sensible and not going in groups.

I hope people will be more sensible running than they are food shopping, it really is a joke how people are buying food and wait for it I now think they are panic buying dog food as I found out when trying to get Buddy's food 🙄🐶

I went to the local supermarket today and was really shocked at all the bare shelves. No eggs, no bread, no cheddar, no paracetamol, etc. Still had pet food though... for now at least!

Well done Debston!🤗
