Imagine my surprise when Mr Announcer told me this morning that I'd run my first kilometre in 4 minutes 30 seconds! I thought I'd listen to my podcast and take it easy. Must be wrong I thought. Have I bypassed the toxic 10? I was feeling quite good so just carried on and then my next kilometre was slower and the next and the next. So much for taking it easy - this is where my competitive streak kicked in π For the last part of the run I was having to try really hard not to go any slower. I even took my timer out of my Fitbelt because I thought that my time was definitely up in more ways than one! One minute left! That was hard but I finally managed 5k in 30 minutes. So I've done it - maybe I'll lighten up a bit now? π€·ββοΈTake the pressure off myself a bit and go back to enjoying it more. I think I'm going to go back to my music though - way more uplifting than what I was listening to this morning.

Thanks Grannytobe. I'm actually in France so winter isn't so bad. It's a bit of an effort to get out there as it is cold but once I'm running I soon warm up.
π you could start with 30 seconds really slow 20 seconds not so slow and 10 seconds a bit quicker and build it up, No need to tire yourself out π
