Shoes types and advise

So I'm wondering what's on the end of your legs and I don't mean 🦶🙄 trainers...

My trusty karrimors ( don't laugh) tried and tested but I'm thinking after today perhaps it's time to look at more running specific trainer, I definitely need either more cushioning or bounce it could be the same thing. Gait analysis? I thing I'm pretty neutral but your thoughts advice and views are welcomed please, as some of you out there are grinding serious miles. I run many towpaths and footpaths !!!

Thanks in advance

Maybe it's time for gait analysis. You're running longer distances now and really need to be careful. Good luck and let us know what you decide😊

Gait analysis 👍

Not only covers how you run but the person doing it should also enquire about your running ambitions, terrain type etc before they recommend a shoe. If they don't ask then go somewhere else.

I asked on here for recommendations in my area. The shop I used was a 40 mins drive for me but the service was outstanding.

Good luck 😊

It’s definitely worth getting a gait analysis Imc50. It’s scarily easy to pick up an injury wearing inappropriate trainers, even though they might feel comfy enough.

I had an in depth one last year at a running lab (it was fantastic and very interesting), but most running shops offer them, and there’s often a discount on whatever trainers they recommend. 👍 I’d say go for it. Your feet are too important.

Make sure you get your gait analysis done in an independent running shop. They are staffed by very experienced runners who’s passion is running. They will take their time with you and offer excellent advice. Rather than a larger high street chain sports shop where the staff are paid peanuts and don’t care or are inexperienced.

I went to a small independent shop and the woman in there analysed what I needed just by feel and by watching me stand and move around. Very informal. My physio said she was spot on in her advice - the shoes weren’t cheap but I feel it was worth it and made a huge difference. So personally I don’t feel it needs to be really high tech, but the person needs lots of knowledge, experience and time ! We need to take care of our feet not we demand so much of them 😊

Running shoes, yes gait analysis is highly recommended, go to a proper running shop as others have said, avoid Sports direct unless you immediately find what you want in your size, there's no proper gait analysis in those stores either, with some of the assistants attitude & knowledge a lot to be desired, have experience of this on various occasions.

Good advice, we've two decent shops in Chester; up and running and tri-active the latter being an independent, bit more expensive as the other has stores elsewhere on the UK and online sales....

Stick to sports direct for teeshirts !!
