Not finished enjoying my Christmas running yet, but was inspired by this article to remember to keep rediscovering why I love running.

This is a great article Debs, ofcourse we all need a little break from running when it's the holidays or other life stuff gets in the way. It's important to remember why we want to get back out there. On both my holidays this year, I was really itching to get back and into my running gear so I could head out of the door and run and run and run... I was eager to keep on top of my c25k or juju or next milestone... and i'm still very much in that mindset.

It's great when you have goal you're working towards. I'm always setting little challenges for myself (this Christmas it's to run everyday of my holiday) and I still get really excited about running new routes. If fact I love running when I'm away and have found locals really amazingly friendly when you ask them about potential routes.

I did it last year and felt so much better for it. I managed to avoid that 'omg I've totally overdone it and now even sitting watching TV all day feels like too much effort' feeling.

It's also an excuse just to get some headspace in the chaos that it the festive season. I try to run first thing and it sets me up for the day. I alternate a just around the block run (2ish K) with a gentle 5ish k or some interval training.

I will also try and squeeze in a 10k somewhere beautiful before New Year.
