Slipping and sliding my way into Week 6

A very muddy 4km done at Sissinghurst Castle this morning. I love running in the cooler weather but I really hate the mud! Stopped by the lake to take a pic of all the ducks but they are just tiny specks on the water, should have zoomed in a bit! Was nice to see them though. πŸ˜‚ πŸ¦†

Nice piccie all the same. My run is all on hard urban surfaces. Mud and hills are the things that put me off park run!

It's all part of the fun... πŸ˜‚ My local Parkrun route is a lot less muddy than most of my other regular running routes so I will head there for my next run. It is jolly hilly though!

Looks like a great place for a run, and I have photos of ducks that look remarkably similar πŸ˜‚

Great run Debston. All that mud , it must make your run tough😊

Definitely feeling it in my legs now. All that squelchiness gave me a good workout!

Great run in the mud. Sounds like a lovely place to run. I ran over a moorland battlefield, not so picturesque although people do come from all over the world to see it. Happy running

Ooh, sounds wild and rugged! Which battle was it?

Battle of Culloden- bonnie prince Charlie, a very I'll advised battle where half of the Scots fought on the Duke of Cumberlands English side. A very bloody affair but quite a good flat running route straight from the house which can be extended to 6 miles past various other notable battle things like the giant stone they lined the prisoners up against before shooting them nice πŸ₯΄

Nice πŸ˜‚. I remember learning about Bonnie Prince Charlie at primary school as we were going on a school holiday to Scotland to a place called Mallaig. That stone would give me the shivers, I think!

BPC Fled Culloden to the west where mallaig is - speed bonnie boat, skye boat song was him trying to get away.

I was shocked that my English pupils didn't recognise BPC when I showed them a copy of one of the famous photos. Never heard of him!!

Hopefully that wouldn’t happen up here but who knows. There’s been a push to teach more Scottish history in recent years.

Thanks, it wasn't too bad last week but we have had a lot of rain since then. Fingers crossed for a nice dry spell to de-boggify it all!

What a lovely place to run Debston. I visited In the summer a few years ago, and loved the area and gardens.
