Getting serious 🤪

Today was my 15th Park Run, I am getting back to form as last week I was not well. However today, running for the 1st time in my new shoes, well they have been used in my everyday runs so very dirty now, but 1sr Park Run try out. I was 30 seconds off my PB,I was happy, but I will always want better.

My goodness it was a cold start, do you wrap up and discard or carry or just run, knowing you will be warm soon.

I have been inspired by “keep on running, the highs and lows of a Marathon addict” by Phil Hewitt. When I felt awful last week, thinking I’ll never run again, ( ok I am a drama queen) this helped me through. I was looking at split times today, we have a 3 lap course, so I could see my time slipping away, 12,14 and I managed to pull back to 13, on the last circuit.

Next weekend I hope to do Cardiff, if all goes to plan.

Today, I am feeling well again, inspired and ready to do my 16th Park Run, with some better training runs this week.

Always hoping for the PB.

Well done. I’m jealous. I missed out on parkrun this morning. My wife is away and I had to take my 7 year old Son to Rugby Training. I was standing out in a cold field freezing. I much prefer parkrun.

I dress at parkrun for the full 5k run knowing I will get warm. So I don’t put on too many layers. Last week I wore a base layer and a t-shirt, plus shorts, hat and buff.

Hoping to get 4 x parkruns done before the end of December. That will bring me to a total of 60. I’m hoping to do 40 next year and get to 100.

Well done that you did parkrun today. I woke up too late, and when I saw that all cars outside where white from the frost, I thought I wouldn't have gone anyway.

I hardly ever run in this cold, so I am not sure how to approach clothing. Probably would dress between comfortable and freezing, so I bit cold.

Well done! Isn’t parkrun just the best?! Mine was cancelled today so I went to another local one for a change - luckily there are several near me. It was nice to return to a different one. Busy as everyone seemed to have gone from the other cancelled locations 🤣 I’m on 86 now I think - hoping to get my 100th in just over 2 years of starting Couch to 5k. As for clothes - I always go freezing knowing I’ll warm up. I hate getting too hot! I’d rather suffer pre race 🥶🤣
