My last run was on Friday, as I’ve have been doing strength and flex every day in the mornings to loosen up a tight hamstring. It’s been enjoyable getting into the routine, but I’ve noticed a little dip in my enthusiasm.
My kit wasn’t getting put out at night and the strength and flex was getting later 🤫. My hamstring tightness has gone (I think). So it’s worked. I decided it’s time to get back out there or I’d possibly be getting on a slippery slope.
I got my kit on (with head torch 🔦) and opened the door! 😵 Snow! ❄️ ⛄️! Not heavy, but snow all the same. A moment of visualising myself flat on my back with slippery trainers 🥴.....🤔 and then I decided if I don’t go, I won’t know if running in the snow is a good idea. So, I get my gloves on and take on another winter weather challenge. I’m ticking them off slowly! ✅ “It’s just another run”, I tell myself.
Just taking it one day at a time! Run complete and that’s enough for today! 👍🏽
Edit: Just received this email! Not sure why. I don’t usually, but it sums it up running so nicely for me. “You came, You ran, You conquered”! Ah...that‘s just brilliant! Love it! 💓
Happy running Runners! ❤️

OMG snow!! Well done getting out there Fab! That is a good winter prep run; if you can do it today you know you can keep it going over the next few months 👍👍👍 x
Noooo! Not the fluffy ear muffs 😢 I think we will have a snowy one this year once the temperatures drop. We’re getting so much rain around our way I think I’ll need a tri-suit soon!
The thought of it is 99% always worse than the actual doing but it doesn’t matter how much we tell ourselves that. It’s like my cat this morning - he’d been nagging to go out and as soon as I opened the door he turned around and ran back up the stairs 😹. Don’t be a cat, be Fab! 👏👏👏🤛
Brilliant effort getting back out after injury and snow. I’m like you, try each new weather type once to see if we can like it. I hope it was a wonderful run, all fresh and sparkling before slush sets in. Happy running
Ah thanks Grannytobe! 🤗 It’s already slushy and almost gone. I figure I’ve seen the best bit in the quiet of the morning! And I’ve proved that I can run in the snow! 😁❤️
Thanks AlMorr, no it’s not hilly at all! It was a surprise to see it. It wasn’t that cold either. It is already melting away. Maybe it just stopped by to test me. But I passed! 😁✅❤️
Where I am in Central Scotland it is a brilliant sunny morning with no clouds in the sky, temperature around 0C/32F.
Since January on a Thursday morning, I have been a member of our local walking club, we meet at 10.30 am outside our local Leisure Centre, go a 4.5Kilometer walk then have a cake and a cup of coffee, some of the members bake their own cake and bring it in for all of us to share, that can be very nice, one of the members is considering doing C25K.
I did not get my mid-week run yesterday so I'll do that this afternoon.
Thank you so much OF! It was a surprise but no ice. It wasn’t that cold either. It felt good to get out, whereas in the past, I would say “oh, not today”! Now it’s been done, I know I can do it and enjoy it too! 🙌🏽❤️
Wow - so early for snow (just watching the weather news just now). I’m in East Anglia so relatively dry and mild here - just about to head out for a damp run. Good for you. Not sure I’d have got over the doorstep!
Thanks so much Sybilw! 🤗 I didn’t allow myself to think too long 😂! I wanted to get out early so I thought now or never🏃🏽♀️! I was expecting it to be a lot colder than it was. I’m glad I’ve experienced it in the quiet darker hours of the morning! I might have thought more about embarrassing myself slipping if it was full daylight. 😂!
My run wasn’t great (blood donors) but st least I didn’t fall - lots of puddles and leaves. I’ve fallen in public and it results in a VERY fast ‘jump up and keep running!!’ 🤣
Ah Sybilw! I would be the same 😉. You ought to see me gather my running pose when I’m running closely past walkers. All of a sudden I’m an athlete in training! 🤣
Wow, well done. That must have been a bit of a shock. No snow here - just more heavy rain to add to the already flooded fields. Thankfully, I’m not planning to run today, having done a long one yesterday 😅
Thank you Sandie!! 🤗 Oh wow! The floods are a big problem at the moment. And so close to Christmas. I certainly can’t complain about a bit of snow. We’ve been lucky. ❤️
Nice work. No snow here yet... but it’s coming and I’m looking forward to putting some prints in it.
Coach Bennett seems to have cranked it up a notch on the plan feedbacks, and there’s new versions of the plan that went through beta testing up to the end of October, so maybe it’s part of that.
Thanks so much UNM! 🤗 I was lucky to be able to give it a go while it was light today. The CB email was a really nice surprise and very encouraging too! It gets a big thumbs up if it’s a taste of things to come. 😁❤️
