I was determined to extend my 10K a little this morning. I decided en-route to detour out of town up a not so lovely hill to Theatre Clwyd before heading home.
I guessed that would add around 2K on but figured if I could do 10, I could probably do 12! Plus I could always stop and walk the last bit if needs be!
Well I can't say it was easy but I made it, probably would've been a little easier if I'd slowed down a bit more, but I'm not very good at that...I think I've slowed up, then turns out I haven't when I hear my stats!
Got home, ate a couple of jelly babies, drank water, did stretches, did strength exercises, had a quick bath then treated myself to a big plate of bacon and eggs with a toasted bagel and a cappuccino!
Boy did I enjoy the breakfast, and the laze on the sofa with a blanket and an episode of House that came afterwards π

Great great run... not sure Iβd deliberately take on a not so lovely hill after 10k... maybe Iβd consider it after 5 π€£... but you took up the challenge and kicked its butt.
Slowing down is one thing, but running to perceived effort is another... you think youβve slowed down but, because your fitness is rising, you havenβt... thatβs to be celebrated really, less effort same pace means better fitness and efficiency.
Very well earned breakfast... and the couch and TV can always have you back post run!
Thanks UNM...yes the hill was a bit much but it was the only place I could think of off the top of my head that would add on a decent distance, a bit of variety and a nice view! Just thought, ahh it'll do me good...and at least afterwards I got to run back down it ππ
Yes, the couch definitely still has it's place in my life π
Well done on your furthest run Run46 ...that was a great way to extend your run..if I can do 10k, i can prob do 12k and you did!!! That breakfast sounds like the perfect reward x
