From Jane Austen to William Shakespeare: the next HU VRB meetup

Stratford upon Avon Parkrun - Saturday 9th November 2019

(Excuse the quote, funnily enough there aren’t many Shakespeare quotes to do with running 😂)

So we leave the hilly, trail shoe fest, BBC Pride & Prejudice location of Lyme Park, for the flat as a pancake, mainly tarmac, ‘get your 5k PB here’, delights of Stratford upon Avon. If you can join us then you will get to see this view of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre 3 times during your parkrun, going around the Recreation Ground and along the banks of the Avon over 3 laps. I can’t guarantee it will be this gorgeous and tranquil but you never know!

We are hoping to have the usual suspects: cheekychipmunks , Sandie1961 , Dexy5 , UpTheStanley and Windoze who will be joining Katnap with his latest C25k group’s graduation run.

It would be lovely if you could join us!

Well sort of! Nikki challenged me to do a 50k bike ride with her if she did C25k. As she lives in Stratford I put her in contact with Katnap. My bike has so far been to Halfords for a service, having languished in the garage for 10 years 😂

Sadly this one is out of my regular Saturday morning range as I’m tethered to Stockport until 7:50am or I’d be there!

Obviously Little Miss UNM will need to visit at some point though, it’ll bring her English Lit to life, so we will come run this one eventually.

Hi TailChaser! Dexy5 mentioned your meet-up while we were having coffee earlier (but no cake😇!). As I’ll be staying in Redditch the night before I thought I might join you if that’s OK. After all you all need to see just how slow, slow running can be!

Brilliant OG, I’ll add you to our chat! I think our tailwalkers come in at 50 minutes to an hour. After seeing how slow I could run for 45 minutes last week, I’ve developed a bit respect for slow runners - it’s really hard work! I forgot mention our refreshments table at the end of our parkrun - it creaks with cake, biscuits and fruit! It will be great to meet you 😀
