Iโm heading off shortly to PR. Nothing new there, Iโm a PR junkie and do one pretty much every weekend. ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
But I found out about an inaugural one near me - Clevedon Salthouse Fields - and seeing as how my regular one in Bristol is hosting a festival this weekend, itโs a no brainer, I need to give it a go!
So why am I so nervous?!! Bonkers! ๐ Iโm not going to say wish me luck because that would be plain ridiculous! ๐๐ ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Happy parkrunning/running this weekend guys! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

Yes definitely Floss. Itโs not often weโre given the chance to run an inaugural PR, so there was no way I was going to miss it. It was brilliant too! ๐
Haha, no itโs ok Jell, my legs only fancied 5k this morning! It was surprisingly warm by PR time, but I was pleased with my time and really enjoyed it! ๐๐
Great!! No I havenโt been to PR for some time now. I did go out and do a 5k recently, but Iโm not running as regularly as I would like to be. Itโs been a bit of a weird year so far and I just havenโt got my flow back on. Iโm not giving up though. ๐โค๏ธ
Worse than that Uncle. Iโm toying with doing Severn Bridge again - so I have 3 (even 4 if the weather is cool enough for hilly Ashton Court!). The weather will decide where I go for sure.
Sounds exciting being at the very first. you will probably see some familiar faces from your regular one. And knowing how time flies in a flash a year will have passed and you will be running in fancy dress at its first birthday have fun today๐๐
Yes Runsome I did see some familar faces. ๐๐ It was fantastic - although no ๐ allowed, but thatโs ok, my son and his girlfriend are walking her today. ๐
As for its first birthday next year, no wayyy will I wear the onesie I wore at our PRโs bโday. I almost expired!! ๐ฅต
Thanks Damien, I did! ๐๐ A beautiful sunny morning (bit warm, but hey) and everyone was in a good mood! I remember you did an inaugural one too. Canโt miss out on those opportunities can you? ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
The silly thing is Iโve done quite a few tourist PRs now. I think today was my 8th. Not many compared to some I know! I think I was nervous because it was its inaugural one. Why that should make a difference I have no clue! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Hi Cheeky, I hope you enjoyed your parkrun today, I certainly did, I got a PB time of 30.55, the highest age grading I have had at a parkrun of 59.35% and first in my age group, I may have been the only person in my age group ๐I was 176th out of 264 runners, all in all a good ๐ run ๐
O I am so sorry about that Dexy ๐the parkrun I was at does have plenty of water around it, it is a Loch (lake) called Lochend Loch in a country park called Drumpelliier, to the east of Glasgow near the M73 motorway, a really nice place, a bit different from my "home." parkrun at Dunfermline which is 100% a park.
It was rather special Dexy! I overheard someone mention โnew parkrunโ and of course my ๐ pricked up (looks more like a foot on my phone - but you know what I mean! ๐ ) An opportunity not to be missed. Bit warm though ..... ๐ฅต
Unfortunately I missed the inaugural Market Rasen parkrun last year and only managed to get to the second one, which was a shame. Looks like you had a much bigger turnout though and a far more picturesque run than 3 times round the racecourse!
Yes Iโd planned on going back to the Severn Bridge with Eastville being off this week, but the lure of an inaugural PR was too strong Sandie! So glad I went - over 300 there too! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Next weekend depends on the weather. Too windy and Severn Bridge wonโt be fun but I really want to go back. I loved it! ๐๐
Hey cheeky chipmunk, Iโve only done my local parkrun the last 15 weeks but I am due to try one in November, another local one... I think Iโll be the same as you. Iโm nervous about a new parkrun throwing me off, slowing me down, people pushing me about... Iโm only small ๐ข
