What a week...

So, this this time last week My PBs were:

-5k - 31:55

-10k - 73:53

I went out on Saturday and bought myself a new pair of Brooks Ghost 12s

( healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...... ) and three runs later, my PBs stand at:

-5k - 30:41

-10k - 67:00

I am beginning to think theses shoes have some sort of special quality/magical power. I'm also beginning to believe that the sub 30:00 5k might actually be a possibility.

All in all, not bad for someone whose first 5k at the start of May was 39:22 and first 10k in July was 79:36.

For anyone who doubts the life changing powers of C25K and JuJu's Magic Number 10k plan, the proof is in this post. I still can't believe just how far I've come, and run, since I started back in March.

Back on duty herding egg chasers tomorrow morning, so won't be parkrunning, but for those that are, or just running in general, have a great weekend.

Definitely a massive achievement SF! I foresee a sub 30 5k very soon indeed. Hope you’ll tell us when it happens so we can throw you a virtual party! 🎉🎉🎉

Great times for you sTrongFuse, proper running shoes do make the runs more comfortable and can make some people run a little faster than ordinary trainers, won't be too long before you can get a sub 30 minute/60 minute 5k /10K time respectively.

Enjoy your duty of herding egg chasers tomorrow, I'll be running my 6th parkrun tomorrow morning at a parkrun which I have not been to before, so I'll be a first timer.

Thanks Al. Thing is, my other shoes are "proper" ones too, Saucing Peregrine trail shoes.

Practice and training are also helping you with better times as well.

Well done. Your knocking on the door of a sub 30 min parkrun and 5K.

I’m looking forward to parkrun tomorrow. I’ve been doing some parkrun tourism for the past 9 weeks. Going to spend a few weeks at my home parkrun. I’ll be running my 52nd tomorrow and I’ll volunteer next week.

I think trails v roadies is similar to bike tyres - road slicks go faster, as long as the going suits them 😀

Which is not to say that’s not a great improvement - well done! The next 40 secs may have to be chipped away at bit by bit though .......

Onwards and upwards!

Ta. I'll get there if and when I do. Just to find myself somewhere flat when I decide to go for it.
