Set out this morning at 06:00 to do my Week 2 long run (39 minutes). I was well prepared and looking forward to my first outdoors run of the week. I'd set Strava announcements to half kilometres so I'd know roughly when I'd run for 39 minutes.
Anyway, I started with a 5 minute brisk walk then began my run. All going really well and with a pace of 6:30 I was well happy. Seen a few runners and greeted them with the 'runners nod'. Feeling great and enjoying the fact that I'm now a runner too. Eventually got to 5.5km in 36 minutes and with quite a bit left in the tank, thought I might as well go to 6km regardless how long it takes. Anyway, reached 6km in 41:23 and was well chuffed. I stopped Strava and warmed down with a 5 minute brisk walk back to the car. It was then that I realised that my 5 minute warm up at the start was included in my Strava timings. Noooooooooooo!!!!! I'd ran only 5.5k and for only 36 minutes so I haven't completed the 3rd run of week 2!! If I have to repeat it it throws me all of sync as I can only do my long run on Fridays. Not sure what to do - repeat week 2 or carry on to week 3??

You still enjoyed a smashing run outside Davo Well done!
Running outside is more challenging than on the treadmill, so its good that you found that run comfortable.
Its entirely up to you whether you decide to move on, however repeating Wk 2 would be fine. Its all just running, and you are gaining strength and stamina all the time. There is no rush to push through the 10k program and getting there strongly and injury free is the main goal!
I get a bit obsessed with times too as I no longer have Jo Whiley with me! I have also messed up wk2 by not running Monday or Tuesday so will run Sunday to complete my 3 runs! I tend to start and then decide which run I do. I'm just using my stopwatch, as too worried that Strava may fail me!
Nice to share my week with another who obsesses over times! I suppose in the grand scheme of things, we're getting out and building safely and slowly...
I find the short fast runs the biggest challenge...I'd rather do slow long runs any day..
