Slightly awkward question...

OK, apologies to anyone eating while reading this, but nipple chafing; any practical suggestions as to how to prevent it?

Please bear in mind that I am somewhat of a furry nature and, as such, sticky plasters are worse than useless...

Now, just be thankful I didn't choose to illustrate this post!

There's a product called bodyglide, it works for any areas that chafe. I buy it in stick form, like a deodorant, just smear on liberally, hairs won't be a problem and go. You should see a big difference

If you’re female Wear a sports bar? If your male Wear a sports bar? 😉

I assumed it was a sports bar over each nipple... Then you've got a post-run snack at the ready! Yum, warm snack bars... 😉😋

I’m hoping that it’s male going by the furry comment 😉

Another vote for bodyglide, my OH wouldn’t be without it, he’s done the ‘looking like you’ve been shot’ blood stains on his chest, (which all blokes seem to do at least once......) you can imagine the screams from the shower.....😱🚿........

It is not the cheapest, he’s tried plasters - fall off - even the fancy ‘runners’ ones, Vaseline - stains t-shirts, etc., but bodyglide always works and doesn’t ruin your t-shirts

It's definitely not the cheapest but it does last very well really 👍🏻😁

Can’t help on the chafing I’m afraid but I like your personal description as I was born in Forres a gazillion years ago!(well it feels like it some times!).

I left in 1986, a couple of months before the mighty Can-Cans won the Highland League for the first of only two times in my lifetime.

Sounds awful, I haven’t suffered from this thankfully so I’m guessing my sports bra is working, it’s from M&S.

If you’re male, which I think might be... are you showering straight after each run, remove your sweaty clothes immediately. And avoid using lotions and potions in that area (easy to do as you are trying to make it better) but you mustn’t upset the ph balance in these areas, just let the water do it’s work, stay away from soaps, shower gels, in that area. If you must use something I would suggest an oil (coconut, almond) after you’ve showered but whilst the skin is still wet.

Plasters, strong and big, or vaseline. Alternatively, very tight top.

Tried plasters. They either fall off, or begin to lose their stick and actually contribute to the rubbing.

......leaving you with a tight base layer or lots of Vaseline.....;)

With wearing a running bra I'm glad to say I don't have that problem...might I suggest!?, oh never mind 😆

Seriously though, and also TMI, when I was heavily pregnant my belly button turned into an outie and I couldn't bear the material rubbing there, I saw a suggestion of putting a plaster on like people do for joggers nipple and it worked brilliantly. You may need to shave a bit 1st though if you're super hairy or either they may not stick or will take some hair with them when you take them off post run, ouch 😳🏃‍♂️👍
